Vegans urged to switch to cow milk instead of soya milk to save the planet.

Do you reckon Mongolia is really majority lactose intolerant? Seems a bit surprising. Thought Japan had been on a free school milk thing for a century or more now too but only vague on that. Han China alone is enough to show dairy is entirely optional of course.
It's all yoghurt and fermented milk in Mongolia isn't it? Though maybe the info is wrong. It would be odd given the history and culture.

Depends on the definition of lactose intolerance apparently but kids can generally digest it even if they grow up to be intolerant (like me). Somewhere between 19% and 95% of Japanese adults are intolerant depending on definition. It's similar in China where assume the 'ice cream gives you diarhea/upset stomach' thing is because it's the milkiest thing people will eat in the normal course of things. Doesn't stop most of them (or me) eating it though.

Not really sure with Mongolia but you might be right thinking about it, Mongolians I know here from the Chinese bit will have the cheese and a koumiss type thing but you don't see them necking pints.

Awesome source dude! Some random on the internet offering an Alternative & Holistic Health Service always overthrows decades of scientific research by qualified experts on these matters.

Hence my "jokey" tone as I too have given up on any reasoned debate from the entrenched attitude on both sides of the meat divide. Nice to see that you are reading the sources this time round my old mucker.

TBF the fossil fuel being the biggest problem (except over population of course ;) ) is a reasonably legit comment.

That's what happens. The parts used for animal feed are generally the bits that are left over after, and if no use to humans.
Well not actually - would be a decent basis for savoury cutletty things - and "okara tempeh" is a thing .... and by the same token, you could grow gourmet fungi on it then use what's left as a soil amendment...
I always had pencilled-in having my own soy dairy - even considered buying a soy milk maker.

If you're the deepest of deep green, you would make your (tofu) from field beans.
