Vancouver.

I've found that Vancouverians are a bit stuck up. British in all the worst possible ways, combined with american. Argh!

I much prefer the people from places like Nova Scotia who I've met, even Toronto.

Ever met a Newfoundlander? imo - best people in Canada!!!!

Yes, Quebec controls her own immigration.

When you posted yesterday, I was wondering if you had found that link. I was gonna post it, but ran out of time. I'm surprised that we needed people from the food industry. Oh well, the more the merrier I suppose.

If you do manage to find a job here, let me know. I'll met up with you for a beer.

I am currently in discussions about a job with a tyre company in Vernon BC.

Tire - shakes head sadly :D

It looks lovely. I'd chose Vernon over Vancouver, any day.

Good luck!!!!

Yeah another Canadian friend of ours says it's great there. It's just whether a city of 40,000 would seem too small for us after London. Also if Liberty wants to start a business, there are a lot more customers in Vancouver....

Where in Canada are you?

Half way between Montreal and Ottawa - other side of the country.

But the offer to buy you a beer (at the minimum) was genuine - hubby works for the airlines, so I fly for free.

I really hope you make it over here - the country needs more upstanding folks!!!

*fingers crossed*

We may be getting across the pond by boat, so we may drive by on our way to where we end up!

I also believe that the Quebec system is totally different too.

Yep and you really need to be able to speak French, as one of the immigration channels if for French speaking peoples!
To be honest I prefer New England to Quebec and Ontario although Quebec city is great and Montreal is fun for a night out.
Not been over to Vancouver.

A lot of people I know went out there on a 1 Year BUNAC visa, got offered permy jobs and ended up staying.

Wow - it sounds like a dream trip!!!

Planning on landing in Halifax? If so, we are only 18 hours away (daughter did uni there) and you will have to pass right by our town. There's only one road that runs across Canada - and it misses Toronto.

What does Liberty do?

Awesome - combine that with your British accent and you'll be all set :)

Are you bringing Badger?

:D

Yes Badger and Mouse will be coming we are looking at sailing on the QM2 so they don't have to fly then getting an RV and taking a month to drive across the US to Vancouver. Something we have always wanted to do so if the visa gets sorted it would be an ideal time to do it.

:)

:hmm:

Why drive across the States?

I am interested to see a lot of different places in the states although it's not somewhere I would want to live. It would also be great for my photography

There's a lot of excellent places to visit down there. I'm betting that it will be more interesting than two days of driving the prairies.

Any plans on trying to meet up with some of the US urbanites? They seem to be sprinkled around the States.

My father is from Van it is a great place. It is sunny in the summer and damn cold in the winter - if you like skiing it's the place for you.

BC is simply lovely and there is a very large Chinese and sheik community there so the grub isn't half bad. Next to Taos it is my favourite place outside London.
