V festival

Yeah, I guess I am. It just amazes me that people boast about getting so out of it that they can't function normally anymore. But that's me being a 'reformed smoker'.

Who's boasting? I like taking drugs, I don't boast about it. Seems pretty irrelevant to this thread anyway. Different people like different things. Wow. Has anyone told BBC News yet? They might want to cover it on the 1 o clock news.

Oh dear :D

What are you oh dearing about? You're having a go at pootle for judging V festival and then you go off making judgements about people who like something a bit different.

Well as I said, I've had a good time at both V and Glasto, and went to Latitude over the weekend so I'm far from being snobby about festies...

No me neither, reckon I'd have different types of fun at all of them, just seems a bit off to accuse someone of snobbery and then snob it up the other way.

I don't see anyone going about levels of 'cool'. Sometimes I think you project your own weird stuff onto what people are saying.

Well, it's nice that you think about me :)

I'm sure Womad meets with a quiet sneer from some people who think that a festival is all about getting munted, muddy and suffering from memory loss. It's a bit 'middle-class' for some people and probably won't tick the boxes of a 'proper' festival experience.

LOL at this thread. :D

Never been to V, but I'd imagine it has more of a festival feel than the awful Guilfest.

A festival for middle-aged Radio 2 listeners. :(

But you're just projecting all those opinions on to people :D

And also you're allowed to be snobby about people who want to get off their mash at festivals? How does that work?

I admitted I was a 'reformed smoker' *shrugs*

I'm not projecting anyway. The first reply to a thread I started about Womad was sneery. But each to their own. Matter do it? :)

i've not been to V but i don't think i'd fancy it, not if it's anything like the o2 wireless thingy (went there last year to see morrissey - he was good, everything else was... clean and tidy)

Not for me thanks. Went for a day in 2002. Wild horses wouldn't drag me back again for too many reasons to go into right now.

They're still looking for stewards for that afaik. Just in case money is an issue, like.

oooh really, thanks:hmm:

I've thought about working in the past..but I'm not sure I can rely on myself to be reliable.

I'm going to try and get tickets on monday when I get paid I think.

I'm stewarding there. If I'm on a wristband gate I might not let you in :)

I want to go to Bestival and loads of people think that it's for wack wankers but that's why I like it

I hope it's not, I'm going this year because all my mates love it, and if it turns out to be some Hoxtonite toss-in disguised as a music festival I'll weep into my 80s space-chicken outfit.
