Utopia - Series 2

my son got me into this (I was mortified initially and nearly stopped during the eye torturing....but got sucked in on 4oD - do watch 1st series, Dolly'sG, it is deeply convoluted and, i suspect, necessary).

Loved it and am already looking forward to series 3! I'm a bit sad that Arby's killing partner is dead as I really liked that character. I loved the opening of the final episode where the agent who was going to release the virus had the very measured and creepy rant at the mother in the bus station :D

I'm a bit confused about Mr Rabbit though. I can't quite remember from series 1 but I think Mr Rabbit was captured somewhere in the far east and had the Chinese (?) character for Rabbit carved into his chest. I can't remember why. In the first episode of series 2, Milner's sidekick (who I've assumed is the Man from the Ministry in the future episodes?) showed her the scars so it was clearly him. Later in series 2, Milner was claimed to be Mr Rabbit. Please can someone explain it to me? I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious!

No, no the man that they thought was mr Rabbit was a decoy, Milner was always mister Rabbit. I think I remember Milner saying something about the guy (decoy) dying for the cause to protect her.

Just nipping over to suburban, got a burning question about double sided velcro! back in a bit!

Ahhh....that makes some sense. I remember her saying something like "your dedication to the cause is unsurpassed" when the sidekick showed her the scars in the first episode of series 2.

And was the sidekick in S2 Ep1 the minister in later episodes? Or have I got that completely wrong?

I love Geraldine James and will miss her from the next series.

I think different side kick.

I think different side kick.
Thank you!

I hope that S3 is not going to disappear up it's arse as the premise could start getting a bit thin. And the exit of actors of the callibre of Ms James could be a bad sign. I didn't really like the way that Arby suddenly survived. And I also didn't like the way that Jessica Hyde missed the agent in the car in the car park despite having been an excellent shot throughout the series.... If they keep Dennis Kelly as the writer, there is hope.

Im liking the suggestion that Jessica and RB are bonding and changing, or at least wanting to change after being on the run ,not having any love , being so lonely. I personally think Janus is not such a bad idea actually....its about how its executed....

I watched the first series in one sitting the same week series 2 started. My b/f raved about utopia and then I caught it by accident, did not get it but really liked it, specially the music...

finally finished this last night. at least welsh lady doesn't have deeyals anymore

Wilson will have to be defeated next season. Arby's ex partner in death had better stay dead this time. once, okay, but two ressurections would take the mick

A 9mm to the head at that range normally does the trick.

So the colours represent...different factions? Yellow is used for Mr Rabbits lot but then Mr Wilson was surrounded in red at one point. And there were yellow blinds behind Jessica in the last episode. Blue is around quite a lot too. No doubt this is really obvious and someone will be along to tell me what it means.

Finally finished this on 4od. Thought it'd be difficult to follow the first series. It was so good.

Shame some of the stronger characters like Milner and Lee are gone. FFS Wilson never trust a conspiracy theorist.

Series one was shit after episode one. I bothered to see it through to the dreary try hard obvious end. I'm told series two is good, I'd like a nice series to watch, but if it is more of the same with that sticky pout fest acting vacuum, then I probably shouldn't bother.

So, what series / shows would you recommend, that are upto your standards?
