Useless Union Rant

I am not suggesting that all union reps are fantastic. However, I do not accept that a whole movement should be condemned on the experience of one person and one union in one workplace :)

Actually, the OP expresses a lot that reflects the decline of the union in many industries nowadays. The concept of unionism may still be great, but in practice, it's regressing to the point that new workers entering into the majority of work-places don't even know the benefits of being a member, let alone the history of what unionism played in this country.

The OP certainly expresses his view/opinion, and it is a valid view/opinion, but I am questioning the OP's experience and whether it becomes a less valid view/opinion when it becomes clear that it is based on the experience of one person who is not an active trade unionist, and who has posted a lot of anti PCS moans over the last few months, and one union rep who has not responded to the satisfaction of the OP on several occasions.

I think it is noteable and disappointing that the OP has failed to answer any of my points on this occasion, and has also failed to follow up my suggestions of how to complain and how to improve matters in their union branch.

I suspect the OP has decided that their case is better put if they do not respond, so has chosen not to, because they are, fundamentally, unwilling to work to change things.
