and Yippee!!! We have a change of power at the Town Hall.
I am very dissapointed for Shane Collins and the rest of the Greens though, I know they worked really hard..
memespring said:Looks like Herne Hill is having a recount though - maybe Shane is still in with a chance?
aurora green said:Wow, is it that close?
memespring said:Looks like Keith Fitchett has gone.

btw, my machine just totally crashed trying to look at that Lambeth file...
Oula said:We had a power cut on the road the jessops school polling station was last night - maybe that's why Herne Hill was still being counted. The street lights still worked so they had to take the polling station outside. It was quite bizarre. I took a pic of it (no one got anry with me for taking pics of a polling station)
Lambeth website said:The election of councillors in Herne Hill is subject to a recount, which is expected to be declared today.

pooka said:Unofficial word seems to be that one Green has got in in Herne Hill and the recount is around a second. Anyone else heard that?

aurora green said:Yeah, I've also heard that.
One Green in, and the recount is for Shane Collins, by a margin of 10 votes apparently.

jpm said:Looked at the count as if Kirsty McHugh (Lab) was top, Jim Dickson (Lab) second apparently a handful of votes ahead of Rebecca Thackray (Green) who was just in front of Shane Collins. So recount for second and third, likely to end up as written.

Health Warning : Above is NOT authoritative. And is out of date by now.
It does sound like jpm is/was at the count ... unless he saw it on TV??
JTG said:Just to confirm - Becca Thackeray topped the poll in Herne Hill for the Greens and Shane Collins missed out by just 16 votes for the third seat.
