Use your vote wisely tomorrow!

This is the first election where I've actually read all the main parties' manifestos as I've been really unsure about who to vote for. I was planning on voting Green but I couldn't find anything in their manifesto about tackling crime. Living in central Brixton this is kind of a high priority for me! So in the end I didn't vote for them. Please, any Greens out there correct me if I've got it wrong.

I was gonna vote green but the horror of having the libdem/tory alliance again was just too threatening so I voted tactically!

And gave the greens one cos that's where my heart lies....

I am very dissapointed for Shane Collins and the rest of the Greens though, I know they worked really hard..

Looks like Herne Hill is having a recount though - maybe Shane is still in with a chance?

Edit: Just checked and the Libdems have been properly humped havent they! lost 10 seats or so.

We had a power cut on the road the jessops school polling station was last night - maybe that's why Herne Hill was still being counted. The street lights still worked so they had to take the polling station outside. It was quite bizarre. I took a pic of it (no one got anry with me for taking pics of a polling station)

The election of councillors in Herne Hill is subject to a recount, which is expected to be declared today.

Looks like it's an actual recount.

I didn't vote.

I couldn't find where to vote on the lambeth website. I couldn't get through to Lambeth Electoral dept and on the way home from work there were no flyers or sign posts or anything.

To be honest I wasn't prepared to put much more effort than that into finding the polling station.

Quite a remarkable result which looks to buck the national and London trend.

My guess would be that the Lib Dems have paid a price for coalition with the Conservatives. Labour lost 15 seats last time (if I recall correrectly). A lot of those would have been traditional Labour voters who decided to give Labour a kick and then were horrified to find they'd let the Conservatives (and specifically some of the 'characters' in Lambeth Conservatives) into office.

This time round they've taken no chances.

The turnout looks to be up too.

Needless to say: Commiserations and congratulations, as appropriate, to those Urban75 posters 'directly' affected!

Unofficial word seems to be that one Green has got in in Herne Hill and the recount is around a second. Anyone else heard that?

So pleased Fitchett got trounced. 27 votes!!
How did he have the gall to even stand? Why on earth would the LibDems have allowed him to stand?

Any other news? My computer can't open the pdf, either.

council Web site saying similar..

Just glanced at Sky News, and there was Tessa Jowell beaming in Herne Hill, expressing regret about Charles Clarke (and secretly offering thanks for her own hide) like she had anything to do with Labour taking back the borough.

Yeah, I've also heard that.
One Green in, and the recount is for Shane Collins, by a margin of 10 votes apparently.

Looked at the count as if Kirsty McHugh (Lab) was top, Jim Dickson (Lab) second apparently a handful of votes ahead of Rebecca Thackray (Green) who was just in front of Shane Collins. So recount for second and third, likely to end up as written.

Health Warning : Above is NOT authoritative. And is out of date by now.

It does sound like jpm is/was at the count ... unless he saw it on TV??

Yes, but this is. Got the order wrong - Thackray top on 1359, McHugh on 1343, Dickson on 1314. Shane fourth on 1298.
