US Military to detonate bunker buster on Indian land

Not what the treaties say (I confess, it's the treaty with the Na-Dine I've read thoroughly, not this one.). But the treaties are inconvenient to Manifest Destiny and Renegade Vegetable so they must be ignored...

So you're talking about a breach of a Shoshone treaty, but you admit to knowing nothing about it?

I've read it now.

It is a rather punitive treaty. But it remains a treaty between the USA and the Western Shohone. And it provides for wagon-trails, military posts along same, railroads, telegraph lines, prospecting and mining. But that's an exhaustive list of the privileges of the US government on these lands.

In other words, the US is little different towards its people than Zimbabwe. But in the case of the Native Americans, the USG is more concerned with killing people than looking after its own....but then the Indians are seen as an unfortunate obstacle to the mission - aren't they?

You probably don't know this (because the US education system is crap and the teaching of history is non-existent) but Indians were Federal property until 1936. In fact, little has changed since your ancestors gave them blankets infected with smallpox. Now the Indians are bombarded with advertising for cheap, strong booze and are given casinos as a sop for all the years of genocide (no, you wouldn't admit that the killing of thousands of native Americans qualifies as "genocide").

So as far as you and your brethren are concerned, all you have to do is either buy their ancestral lands or force them off them in some other way. Of course, running a smear campaign alongside any move to purchase said land is also welcomed by those (like you) who support the continued brutalisation of thsoe who don't conform to your idea of "American".

It will be intresting to see how the fools respond to this...................(johnny are you there?) :)

I'll tell you how I respond to it. Blah, blah freakin' blah. Same-old same-old. There is absolutely no situation on earth where you lefties don't trot out the same tired crap. So what? Learn to respond intelligently to the actual facts and principles of the case at hand or be forever irrelevant. Sober up, take a bath, and get a job, hippie!

Zimbabwe has an evil, racist, murderous, commie dictator. Laws mean nothing to him. You know this. Why do you pretend otherwise?

In 2000, under the fast track process of land redistribution in Zimbabwe the government has revised the constitution and amended legislation in order to allow it to acquire commercial farms without offering compensation.
A thoroughly unjust law, but a law none-the-less.

So the question is - do other countries have the right/duty to criticise such unjust laws, or not? I say they do.

You seem to be avoiding the issue again by reverting to meaningless insults.
I am addressing the issue quite directly. You are just too psychotic to understand this. You made an utterly worthless analogy between Zimbabwe and the United States. I very generously and patiently explained why sane, moral people do not make such comparisons. You failed to understand what I told you because you have shit for brains. It's all very simple really. Just not for you.

You didn't address the issue at all. You made some vague comment about the US being a country where there are laws, as if having any laws at all and abiding by them automatically made everything ok. Laws have been used to oppress people throughout history.

You seem to prefer name calling over discussions.

Hey, braindeath, you can't refute any of the claims made, and as this post demonstrates, you have no answer bar the usual string of tired insults.

How about you go fuck yourself?

You don't read or respond to my posts because I have consistently ripped your 'arguments' to pieces. You don't like people who challenge you nor do you like being found out in a lie.

You're a gutless wonder, a liar and a joke.

Good link.

This whole weapons testing thing really upsets the pacificist side of me. I really can't see how this benefits mankind at all. Stupid boys playing with their stupid toys

Well, that's all it is really. Boys like things that go "boom". Unfortunately, in their desperate need to blow things up, they overlook one thing: people.

Why do they need to test nuclear weapons for instance? Surely we should know how they work and what they do by now?

Have you seen some of the genetic defects in the babies born in the south pacific islands they tested the nuclear weapons? Horrible!!!

My sympathes lie with the protesters, but nothing can stop those tests. That's really sad part, imo.

Aye, I've read about the effects but not seen them. Last year, the Western Shoshone were offered a larged bundle of bundle of cash for allowing their land to be used for nuclear waste dumping. I know that two sisters were fighting this but I never found out what happened. Did they win?

Well, according to the opening post, the Western Shoshone are opposed to all nuclear activity. Maybe this link may help you out.

Strike test is postponed

"The planned Divine Strake experiment will not be conducted earlier than June 23," said Cheri Abdelnour, spokeswoman for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at Fort Belvoir, Va. The blast was originally scheduled for June 2.

It isn't clear whether this is temporary stay of execution or whether the Pentagon has completely abandoned its plans. Knowing the USG, it is unlikely to be the end of the matter.
