I really don't think I will.

I don't have a computer and I can't really be doing with games that are too hard or last longer than half an hour or so.

Interesting stuff though, the added level of social interaction. I don't think I would like to use headsets.

Cue the "getting ganked at an online funeral" story :)

It would never happen on Dunemaul, we're way to civilised for that.

Are you having withdrawal shakes? Do you want to come on TV and talk about it?

Nobody want's to talk about it on TV, it's like there is some kind of shame attached.

"I don't have a problem, I only play a couple of hours a night" = I play 70 hours a week and my wife and children have left me.

Not overly fussed but a bit pissed off Ive wasted my hard earned cash...even if it was my fault for not having a machine with the correct spec :o

I don't see why anyone should be ashmed of it  surely its no worse than sitting around watching crap TV for 4 hours every evening, or posting on internet message boards. Although obviously if youre ruining your life by playing it thats a bit sad but peobably because that person has other issues going on.

I think people are a bit put off by the idea of internet/computer releated social activities because were not used to it, its all relatively new - but so many people use the internet for it. Theres a stigma attached - I had trouble explaining to real life friends that I was going to meet a bunch of people from the internet (urban) because it seemed to weird and a silly thing to do but loads of people do it and its only going to become more of everyday life imo

Thats true, I was fairly ashamed of addmiting to meeting U75ers but now it doesn't bother me.

Atomic, if you want some good stuff plenty of nearly true urban myths abound on the World of Warcraft official site (the American one) in the general forums there. One particular one was a husbnad and wife who played it. She ended up dumoping him because he wasn't taking it seriously and living witn their guild leader instead. PVP effecting real life? If you want to know how wowo works, and if you are making a TV prog on it or summink, perhaps you should get a free trial and play it? Could answer a lot of questions!

I don't think I would be able to get into it. I watch my wife playing Dragon Quest and am more than 100% bored out of my tree.

I have just been on the phone to an 18 year old gamer that used to do about 70 hours a week. I think he has explained most of it to me but it made me feel so old.

All I could releate it to was Gauntlet and the warlock of firetop mountan (one of those 'turn to page 345' books.

I think I must play about 30-40 hours a week  Trouble is, when you get into the game to that extent, most of the people you know in-game are playing it that much too, and it all turns into one big viscious circle.

The upside is that some genuine RL stuff can come out of it too - 2 of my previous guild mates are now living together - he moved from the Netherlands, to Norway to be with her having met ingame. Awwww
