Urban75 Souffle attempt

i've only ever made one souffle and it turned out perfectly. couldn't see what all the fuss was about

Soufflés do strike fear into the hearts of the most adept cook, but I've never had any trouble making one, and I'm hardly Mr. Kitchen Skillz. So long as you don't mess around with it while it's in the oven it should rise like a beauty if your egg whites are well beaten. It will always fall a little bit unless you cook it to the point where it's completely solid (=Yuk). I'm probably going to be too wasted to make soufflé this weekend, but I wish you all the very best of luck.
On 2nd thoughts Sunday could well be chocolate soufflé day. Mmmmmm, yees :)

err, did anyone actually make a souffle then?

I was going to (got the BF to run out and buy fresh eggs and everything) then ran out of time - left my dinner preparations til the last minute :o

Anyone actually give it a go??

Have to sort another thing out for another week or some other time as well. Pies next? I am not too good with pastry tbh, I always cheat and buy frozen stuff. Much to my mother in law's disgust! :D

If it's cos you have hot hands try rubbing in with a fork, takes a wee bit longer but it's a trick me Nan used & her pastry was great

Sorry, no - had to go and collect Mrs PP's latest eBay bargain by van from Blackburn...

Next weekend would be good, though. We're at my parents' and I can experiment on them :D (plus my mum's got ramekins already)

I'm guessing no-one actually ever made a souffle?!

Well, I'm up for making one this weekend. I've found a lovely recipe on the BBC website for Butternut squash Souffle . So, does anyone else fancy taking up the challenge with me this weekend!

note: ramakins(sp?) not required!
