Urban75 Late Night Poker

Idaho said:
Dunno if it's looking good for next sunday for me... was so knackered last night that I was asleep by 10pm!

I'm sure the excitement will give you that little bit extra Idaho :)

...and we need you!!!

The tourney is certainly going to be no-limit Kained, and I think $10 is a good amount. I reckon the first three finish 'in the money'...

* As recently announced in the sports forum *

I am pleased to announce that the inaugural Urban75 poker tournament is to be held on

10pm Sunday 8th August

www.ipoker.net

subject to confirmation the tournament is expected to be

$10 Hold'Em, No-Limit Freezeout

Good Luck!

*** DrJazzz regrets that entrants must be at least 21 years of age on the day of the tournament ***

The thought of playing poker in pounds stirling strikes me as a tad bizarre, but what time does it start, so that if I'm available, I can kick your butt?

It's not ten pounds Johnny but $10, which you should feel at home with.

you are welcome to play... guess we'll see if the US posters can hold their own against this side of the pond ;)

important announcement

Can everyone who might want to play please register at www.ipoker.net asap(without obligation - no need to deposit money until the day of the tournament) so that I can register the username as being eligible for the tourney.

:)

Thank you

It could be fun, although a big part of poker is staring into the eyes of the opponent.

And we invented poker on this side of the pond.

Hi Boss!

:)

(Edit:, This post [after about 6,000 lost in the "great cull"] is my eight hundred and eighty eighth - 888 - lucky for some they say. Please everyone, say a prayer for me at JUST a moment after 11:00 am UK time (BST) on the 4th of August. I'm having a telephone interview that could change my life completely - and for the better. Thanks and blessings peeps!)

JC,

Stirling is a (beautiful, old) town in Scotland.

Sterling is what the good Dr will be relieving you of.

;)

(Edit: errrrr.....actually it was this one.... D'oh! Anyhow, I'll leave it now. Pray for me peeps :) Thanks!)

Idaho / JC

Have you registered at www.ipoker.net yet?

I need to know your usernames there so I put them as eligible for the tournament. Let me know them asap... of course in JCs case, that's assuming he is considering backing up his words with actual play ;)

...and the same goes for anyone else who hasn't registered yet! :) I need to give three days notice so I guess that's tomorrow at the latest. Hurry up!

Hmm. I need to sort my computer out. The ipoker java thing kills my computer, get a nasty blue screen. ISC does that as well, I can only their browser version. :(

my mac has just stopped recognising my hard disc....and the stupid bloody PC won't open any secure web pages.

bloody stupid machines

hmmm it seems as if we have some technical difficulties :(

would it help if I registered for you belboid? If necessary I could deposit the $10 for you on the day and you wouldn't need to access a secure web page.

meanoldman don't know what to suggest perhaps some technical minded poster might know what to do...

meanie what browser you using????? sounds like its a plugin problem so you will need to visit either the sunjava home page or find links through your browsers home page(ie mozilla.org or microsoft.com/whatever the right one is)

mozilla & opera both use the netscape plugin by the way.

Soz to be off topic peeps, but........

I played my hand well and.....

I got a RESULT!!!

Spoke for the first time with my prospective employer for 35 minutes on the phone and it was as if we were on the same wavelength the whole time, we laughed and joked and really enjoyed each other.

I was "in the zone".

She's coming up to south China on the 7th of September for a face-to-face with me!

I reckon I'm one of only two candidates now. Statistically that gives me a 50/50 chance for the job of my dreams.

And I got a good feeling about this one.

Blessings.

(BTW, I've registered as Jessiedog, but can't play on Sunday. I'll be in Singapore with my beautiful, lovely, Peggydog. :D )

:)

Not so sure. The ISC java client runs fine but the downloadable client kills my computer. Will post something on techie forum.

I thought i'd enter as another representative of the Urban75 North American contingent, although as an Aussie living in the US, i'm something of a ringer.

I'm registered at ipoker under the same name as here: mhendo

I assume the 10pm time is UK time? This would mean that the tourney starts at 5pm Eastern time here in the States.

Anyway, provided that nothing happens on the weekend to prevent my appearance, i'll be there. I've played a bit for play money on the net, but this will be my first foray into the real money game. It's good that we're starting low!

Thanks for organizing it, DrJazzz!

Go all in!!!! GO ALL IN!!!

Wicked to hear from you mate! Wishing you lots of luck!

DrJazz - I'm registered as paddy

I have submitted the 'private tournament' request... the ball is rolling!!!

Yes, the opening tournament is going to be a more modest affair in terms of numbers than I hoped but the show starts here.

kained, idaho, Wanderer and mhendo - congrats on getting sorted for this Sunday. It wouldn't have happen without you and I'm looking forward to the day. :)

To the others - meanoldman, jessiedog, belboid, MrMalcontent - who can't make it this time or are having technical difficulties - sincerely hope you will be ready for the next one.

Johnny Canuck - I had a feeling your money wasn't going to be where your mouth was :p

If anyone else wants to play on Sunday please register at www.ipoker.net and I will try to authorize their entry.

Let's play some cards!!!!

:(

damned pc still won't open the console, cant get anywhere on the site other than the front page.....

hopefully i'll have it sorted for the next session tho!

i still don'yt get where the hell the play money tables are. err non tournemeant anyway.

If 5 people enter then the prize pool will be $50. I have set it up so that the winner takes 66.7% and second place 33.3%... so that would be $33.35 and $16.65, I think. :)

you might want to download the java plugin from http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/index.jsp you want the java run time environmeant.

no promises but umm it might work.

dave
its played other java things before - its some sudden weirdness thats just started happening. i'll try the plug in when i get home, but i have my doubts :(

especially as it doesnt come up saying 'click here to get the plug in' nut rather as 'this page cannot display'

might be worth checking your security settings as well then. might be that you've chucked them up without realizing it.
