you might want to listen to the Pessimist album, cos it's sort of minimal d'n'b/bass

Not really, but it does explain why you've not heard of loads of the music in a round-up of releases from this year.

Brief checking out tells me Pessimist is the tits.
  5. Stanley Edwards

    Stanley Edwards 1967 Maserati Mistral.

Other than Chazegee's 'Roaring 40's', I would nominate Japanese Breakfast, 'Soft Sounds from another Planet', because it is the sort of over familiar, boring shit with cute voice sort of stuff middle aged men like myself happily fall asleep to. Very nice.

I'm not that bothered about new music really

    <checks new music>

Hey this new music is great!

I’m struggling to think of any new albums I’ve listened to this year, I’ve barely listened to anything tbh, I’ve had a really lax year for music. Will do my usual routine of seeing this years list and making them my January playlist :)

I've made it to 18, but I swear theres a couple of ones I've forgotten.

I do like the fact that spotify will make you your top 100 songs playlist of the year

    Mine if anyone is interested.

Thought you were a Bjork fan, didn't she have a new one this year?

My draft list for this years isn't as strong as the 2016 one. Not sure if that's the releases or me.

I've got 18 on my list...... I think Ill call it quits otherwise I'll just be putting stuff on there for the sake of it.

As in previous years, I think I've probably only listened to two new albums in 2017. Maybe I'll crowdsource my list...

One of my biggest issues with spotify is that you can't track new releases from artists and related artists to ones you already like.

Scrap that, I just went through my spotify artists and remembered a load of stuff from earlier in the year.

Draft list is 25, now its just what order I want them in.

Yeah, just literally haven’t had the time to listen to it*. I guess I could just vote for it as number 1, as it will almost certainly be better than anything else this year :D

Well I've made a list of my favourite albums of the year, but fuck knows what order they should go in. How do you decide between an album with some great tracks/some filler and an album that doesn't reach the same heights but is more consistent? Or between an album by a favourite producer doing what they've been doing for years and an album by someone I've just discovered with all the shock of the new? And how are you even supposed to compare icy yet beautiful Russian electro with up-tempo Congolese guitar fun?

I don't suppose it'll matter as no other fucker will vote for them anyway :D

If you've any on your list that you think might have wider support on Urban, put them near the top, as that gives them more chance of getting in the overall urban list.

I can't be arsed with tactical voting. I'm enough of a music nerd to enjoy ranking albums I like. It's not like the fate of the nation rests on it. Or does it..?

It's only been released this year but Dion's Kickin' Child: the lost album 1965 is a bloody cracker. And I didn't think I even liked Dion!
