Yeah this one seemed to fly under the radar a bit. What about Oxbow? Few people been bigging him up
There's a Stereophonics and the Ed Sheeran too!
I reckon 3. Stomzy 2. Dawson 1. PEEL
C'mon belboid I'm stuck at work waiting for this to finish.
lol me too.
I'm on my 4th pint!
At work, that's good going!
Dude, the heating went off at 5. get a wiggle on.
3 - Hannah Peel – Mary CasioJourney to Cassiopia
(ooh, that's big, isn't it?). This years Urban delight - The analog synth based, space age Mary Casio combines with a 33 piece brass band to bring us a wee wedge of sublime marvel.
2 - Gnod - JUST SAY NO TO THE PSYCHO RIGHT-WING CAPITALIST FASCIST INDUSTRIAL DEATH MACHINE
Album title of the year, t-shirt of the year, bloody good job its also a stunningly good piece of music too.
So, what is left?
Yup, it's that one
Ah, so looks like I was right about the top three, but with the wrong order.
1 - Richard Dawson – Peasant
After the, uhh, 'challenging' nature of Nothing Important, Peasant is positively melodic. But just when you settle down to relax, it twists and turns and confounds you. Horror amidst the beauty, or beauty amidst the horror. Either way, it's a masterpiece.
The whole Top 30 then:
1 Richard Dawson – Peasant
2 Gnod - JUST SAY NO TO THE PSYCHO RIGHT-WING CAPITALIST FASCIST INDUSTRIAL DEATH MACHINE
3 Hannah Peel – Mary CasioJourney to Cassiopia
4 Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs - Feed the Rats
5 Slowdive - Slowdive
6 Sleaford Mods - English Tapas
7 Colin Stetson - All This I Do For Glory
8 Thee Oh Sees - Orc
9 Mogwai - Every Country's Son
10 Forest Swords - Compassion
11 Godspeed You! Black Emperor – Luciferian Towers
12 Bjork - Utopia
13 The Moonlandingz - Interplantary Class Classics
14 Kelly Lee Owens- Kelly Lee Owen
15 The Fall - New Facts Emerge
16 LCD Soundsystem - American Dream
17 Juana Molina - Halo
18 Iglooghost - Neō Wax Bloom
19 OCS - Memory Of A Cut Off Head
20 Protomartyr - Relatives in Descent
21 Do say make think - Stubborn persistent illusion
22 Kendrick Lamar - DAMN
23 Zed Bias - Different Response
24 Hey Colossus - The Guillotine
25 Transcendence Orchestra – Modern Methods for Ancient Rituals
26 Blanck Mass - World Eater
27 Fever Ray - Plunge
28 Thundercat - Drunk
29 Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins
30 Jane Weaver – Modern Kosmology
I'll have a look for the 'unsuccessful' Number 1's and add them in.
In the meanwhile, here's the Spotify playlist

To Belboid: Thanks for doing this. It's a lot of work and your efforts are appreciated.
To the rest of Urban: Your ignorance disgusts me.
Excellent top 4. Disappointed that the excellent Hurray for the Riff Raff didn't make it into the top 30, but they seem to have been past over by pretty much everyone.
Post your lists everyone!
1. Hannah Peel – Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopia
2. Joshua Abrams – Simultonality
3. Ellen Arkbro – For Organ and Brass
4. Richard Dawson – Peasant
5. Sam Sowyrda – Luminous Horizons
6. Transcendence Orchestra – Modern Methods for Ancient Rituals
7. Horselords – Mixtape IV
8. Escape-ism – Introduction to Escape-ism
9. Visible Cloaks – Re-assemblage
10. UUUU - UUUU
It was a very close run thing this year. One of the lowest total votes for the eventual winner, although it was placed on probably the largest number of lists (if that makes sense). At the same time, we had possibly the largest number of votes, 400 odd in all, which made the compiling fun. A few surprising non-mentions (Courtney & Kurt particularly springing to mind), and, as usual, some really great suggestions I hadn't heard before.
So, thanks to you all for voting, it has been a pleasure.
Richard Dawson - Peasant

No country in the U75 top 30, but then it's pretty low in my list, doesn't seem to have been a good year. Anybody else got any country suggestions for 2017? Sweet FA, ouchmonkey?
She/they really should hit all my buttons. Saw them at Green Man this year, and they're good, but always just not quite as good as I think they should be, iyswim.
Previous album didn't really grab me, but this one was light years ahead.
A fine effort belboid , thanks for all your work on this
Aye, thanks again belboid
My top 10 is below if anyone gives the faintest hint of a shit. I confess I made a mistake, Razorlegs should have been number one but I put it at number two. Good tip on Blanck Mass though - didn't know he/they had one out this year.
1. Ben Frost - The Centre Cannot Hold
2. Razorlegs - Bloodshot
3. Sarah Davachi - All Circles May Run
4. Peacers - Introducing The Crimsmen
5. William Basinski - A Shadow Of Time
6. Hannu Karjalainen - A Handful Of Dust Is A Desert
7. Ian William Craig - Slow Vessels
8. Sleaford Mods - English Tapas
9. Max Ananyev - The Way To The Ocean
10. Somni 451 - Panta Rei
Here's mine - note the format, no bloody numbers (the removal of which takes as long as writing up the insightful comments on the top 30)
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs
The Big Moon
Courtney & Kurt
Thee Oh Sees - Orc
(actually I bumped Thee Oh Sees up to just behind the Mods, it just gets better with every listen)
Your and my brothers Marling soft spot always make me give her a go, but this one was bland even by her recent standards.
