Saoirse don Phalaistín!

The best thing Jello Biafra did in 89 was The Power of Lard:
But it's an EP, and Time to Melt on the B-side does go on a bit.
Don’t think I could find 10 this year. Even the mighty JAMC’s release this year is underwhelming. Neil Young’s is a bad one. With all the will in the world the Pastels and the Vaselines offerings are patchy.
That leaves ...
Doolittle. Hats. 3.
What else?
Yeah. That does look a bit grumpy in hindsight. Sorry. There's always gold if you dig.
I'd completley overlooked the fact that Gary Clail's was 1989 ,thats going in the top 10. As is Renegades Soundclash its patchy and brash but brave and Ozone Breakdown and the Phantom are great tracks. it was amazing what a year did when they brought out RS in Dub. Liked Danny Briottet's later stuff as well.Big (but maybe not obvious) UK albums for me from 1989 in no particular order
The Shamen - In Gorbachev We Trust
Spacemen 3 - Playing With Fire
Renegade Soundwave - Soundclash
Meat Beat Manifesto - Storm The Studio
Gary Clail - End of The Century Party
Nocturnal Emissions - Stoneface
Nocturnal Emissions - Invocation of the Beast Gods
Some from elsewhere:
Negativland - Helter Stupid
Einsturzende Neubauten - Haus Der Luege
The Ex - Joggers and Smoggers
Excellent choice, I forgot that that was that year.

Odd little Japanese avant garde record. That's six exciting words.
