Urban75 Album of the Year 1989

I fucking loved this in 1989. Haven't listened to it for decades:

Fucking hell. Brassneck is 30 years old.
The rerecorded version with Albini at the controls is why I thought 90 for the album.

My top 10

1. The Pixies - Doolittle
2. Stone Roses - Stone Roses
3. The Cure - Disintegration
4. Mega City Four - Tranzophobia
5. Lemonheads - Lick
6. Senseless Things - Postcard CV
7. Snuff - Snuffsaid
8. New Model Army - Thunder and Consolation
9. New Order - Technique
10. Nirvana - Bleach

The Creatures - Boomerang

Siouxsie without the Banshees. I still play my 30 year old cassette of this sometimes, because it's brilliant and sounds like nothing else.

Proletarian Democracy's ill fated metal section put out its sole album before being overrun by 'grunge' scum like Tad who'd stick "no commies, no faggots" signs on their dressingroom door.

Really underated shortlived Manchester band and quite unique mix of jazz, blues, soul and reggae .This song was the theme to Tony Wilson's late night show on Granada
