I'd be really nervous about moving jobs at the moment unless I really had to or it was an offer too good to refuse.

What sort of company is it you'd be working for and is it fairly recession proof?

The boss that offered you the job might not know of any financial problems going on further up the line. I speak to employers everyday that are trying to keep their financial problems secret (understandably) and in some cases have not talked to other directors about debts etc!

Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound so negative because as someone who's in a job they absolutely hate I think it's a great thing to find something you enjoy.

Normally I'd say go for it, but the way things are ATM? Not worth the possible heartbreak later mate. Hang in there until things are looking a bit more stable, then reassess the situation?

Had a word with my old Boss today, Let him know I was serious

He said to let him know what i do as he'll have to advertise the job and I'd have to apply for it etc etc.

but it's good to know I definately have the choice

I'm gonna go and see my old Boss today, if he says he can still do it, I'm gonna hand my notice in today.

Already got it printed off in front of me

I'd certainly choose a job I'd enjoy, over a job I wouldn't but happens to pay a little more, any day.

Don't hand your notice in till you've had the interview and had a definite offer of the new/old job!

I realise how pissed off and eager to hand in that notice you must be, reading the other thread, but it can still wait a day, can't it?

Take a piss on your boss's office chair in the meantime ;)

So, that went well

There is guy retiring in about 4-5 weeks (my notice has to be 4 weeks)

so There will definately be a job for me.

However they've asked me to wait a few days handing in my notice to see if it would be possible to get me transfered (they're gonna speak with HR)

My only worry there is I wouldn't want the move to be blocked ( as I'm the only fucker in the bussiness that can do my job)

But either way If I handed my notice in and officially left, then applied for the job when it becomes available then surely theres nothing anyone can do

Certainly wouldn't seem to be. Can't be 100% without seeing your contract or whatever but, yeah, that sounds right to me. Cesare is your best bet in this area though.

I Got the job!!

Sweet

My route is gonna be East Anglia

There is a new one coming up that is London and Bristol, I'm gonna try and get that route
