i'd be up for this every once in a while..

mooching about on a mission taking snaps, then some food n booze and debrief... sounds good.

that said, i would look blankly at people talking about lenses and such like as I only have an olympus muji mini and never had an SLR, but all part of the learning process I guess!

I'm up for it simply because it would be an interesting exercise to see how people interpret the same subject in different ways. Should be useful for the creative, ideas side. To be honest, I'm not greatly into the technical side of things - I'll learn enough to create the kind of image I want but I won't spend all evening sitting around talking about lenses. Creative ideas and different ways of looking at things yes - techie stuff, no.

The only proviso is that I probably would not be able to make it to every event as I have a lot of other things on (plus I'm standing in the local elections next year so April is definitely out!).

Cheers,
Dave

If I try and sort something out for the week after next how many people would be up for it?

:o might not be able to do the week after next - when a date gets fixed I'll know for sure (going to see my dad for the first time in 18 months).

21st? If it's the Saturday, I should be okay - if it's the Sunday, it's a no no, as we're off to Amsterdam (with camera) for a well earned break...

Sounds great...

Adds another aspect to urban photography too... I mean most of what we see of each other's work is what we can get on the net, which will have been compressed, will have its tones fucked around with by the screen you're viewing it on etc etc. I'd really like to see other urbanite's prints and get comments on my own, which is clearly something we can't do on the net.

Couldn't agree more. I'm never happy with an image until I've printed it out and can see it in front of me. Even when viewing the full size image in high resolution on a decent screen, there's still a certain loss of quality. By the time the image has been downsized and compressed to go onto the web, it's reduced to an approximation of what it really is...

I'm off on holiday to India from 12th to 29th October (excuses, excuses eh?!?!), so I won't be able to make it - definitely up for anything after that though

Should be able to make it then (although my course occasionaly throws up stuff that may mean I have to cancel at the last minute).

all sounded great until you got to this bit

and talk about what would normally bore the pants off most people, Nikon vs Canon, how big is your lense, that kind of thing :D

that's why I'm focussing on the beer and pies.
Extremely unlikely that I'll be going anyway but beer and pies sounds as good as an excuse to go somewhere as I've ever heard ;)

I don't think they'll be much techy talk anyway... at least I hope not :)

Saturday, market day! :)

May be a bit busy, I aint been there for about three years and it was heaving the last time I was there.

Not sure if I've ever been.. so count me in :)
(I need to be taking a few pics for a project at college, as well as taking more pics in genereal)

Good :)

Its pretty ace, I had to do an essay on it at uni. i'd never of gone otherwise, its been there years - cat steven wrote a song about it!

Cuckoo clocks, and plastic socks
Lampshades of old antique leather
Nothing looks weird, not even a beard
or the boots made out of feathers

it's been confirmed this evening that 21/22 is family weekend - so won't be making this one :(

I'd have loved to have gone there with you lot.

though tbh, I think I'd end up getting distracted by the market :o :D

I was/am a little worried about that too... but seeing as it's before payday I'll only have enough for pie/pint - phew :D
