amazingly, given Bristol was the first place where the foxes came to media attention (quite likely because of the BBC's Natural History unit), I haven't seen one for years.

It's all squirrels where I am...

Nor me, yet in the mid 90s they were everywhere.

Having said that, I rarely go out at night.

No foxes here, but coyotes. We've seen them at the foot of the back stairs at 4 pm before. Seen them running down the middle of the street in broad daylight.

For a time, there were quite a few, and they were grabbing small dogs in the parks, during the day. Our neighbor across the alley, has lost all her cats, except the present one, to coyotes.

I'm not keen on the present cat: where's a coyote when you need one?:p

oh, I often see foxes where I live. They boldly walk in the open after dark, but don't let you get close. Mostly, they seem pretty healthy to me, some are quite bushy tailed.

Lots of foxes around here and we often have a staring contest if I get home late at night. We just stand there staring at each other - an enjoyable experience.

Didn't enjoy it much when they trashed my bins the other day, but it's a small price to pay for the pleasure of their company.

Havent seen one myself for a while but the last one i did see, i called it over to me like you would a dog or a cat & it did come over & it nuzzled my hand, was a truly amazing few minutes.
Think i posted about it on here at the time.

Rarely see foxes out here in Berkshire. Mum (a couple of streets off the south circular between Catford and Eltham) has foxes living in her garden - the last lot of cubs (a year or two back) would sit on the patio step and watch telly with her...

and occasionally pass foxes wandering around the streets in the daytime there.
