Urban exploration any others into this?

presenting it as 'urban exploration' reminds of the people who announced 'free running' or some such bollocks to the world a while ago.

exploring places has always interested me but labeling it as some sort of leisure pursuit strikes me as a little ott.

i feel some rural exploration coming on.

I went down some tunnels

Absolutley huge they were- totally pitch black. (Reminded me of that film the hole a bit actually)

Think they were ww2 bunkers, have gas sealing off stuff in them and lots of old stuff.

No-one really knows they're there, and they're right by my house

I've been dicking about in old buildings since christ was a kid, skipping school, smashing up asbestos, and what not... never though of giving it a name to make me look cooler.

Take Golf.............. would you want to say "I am just going out with a few mates to take a stick and a ball round a manicured landscape??"

Everthing has to have a name....... and its better than the US one of "reality hacking!!" lol

building banging

ruin cracking

edifice adventuring

geographication of halcyon abadonment...

oh give me another 2 minutes or 3, and a coffee.... I'm sure I could get another 14 year old with some interest in language to come up with something else.

Is it about the photography or the crawling about crack dens and alike? If it is the latter then the photography is really just a record of the event. I Think that is why I get nothing from the photos.

I myself quite enjoy knocking around derelict buildings and things, and you do see some stuff that makes a good photo (check out mauvis' stuff), but there's just something about it that is too... I dunno, MTV video about it.

I've got a load of photographs of abandoned villages and destroyed homes from the Highland Clearances. Would that be urban exploration?

That's my point, how far do you regress into an abanonded site until it no longer becomes 'urban' - there's no such thing as rural exploration as such, its called rambling or saga holidays.
