Dirty Martini gets what he cant want

    Here goes.

PM or email me your postal address by midnight on Friday 16 July. I'll pick the names out of a real hat and assign two to each of yers. Burn them each a CD compilation and send them on.

Any CDs not sent by the end of August will result in the poster concerned being ridiculed on air, hounded at work and at home, and condemned to live out their days in a Queensway bedsit with only 'The Very Best of Captain and Tenniel' for company.

I'm open to suggestions as to whether to post up who's got who (not addresses, obviously).

And remember. Home taping is killing music.

I've just noticed it says I don't wish to receive emails, even though I've set it up in my options. Anyone know what that's about?

i think it should be a secret until it's all done and dusted, and the sender shouldn't let the recipients know or anything.

    surprises are good...

in fact, it's a shame it would be too much hassle for all the cds to get pooled centrally, so you don't even know who you're making it for.. that would just be way too bureaucratic..

  6. Sunspots

    Sunspots what's my mission now?...

I'm definitely up for a bit of this.

Don't really mind either way whether or not I know who I'm doing the CD for. There's certain posters who I'd definitely like to get CDs from at some point, but in previous swaps I've always found that the random anonymous approach is far more fun. :)

Agree that central pooling would be a hassle, but I guess to make it more of a surprise I could just send out names and addresses, no usernames (wouldn't work for some, i guess) ...

DaveCinzano WATCH OUT, GEORGE, HE'S GOT A SCREWDRIVER!

    Sunspots what's my mission now?...

Sorry, I was trying to be a bit aloof. :D

Was planning to hold out 'til seconds before the deadline, then with the swish of my cape and an evil glint behind my mexican wrestlers mask, I'd throw my entry into the heaving fray...

But fuck that, I'll just PM you now instead. :D

    What about international issues?

I'm up for sending CDs, but if people are skint they probably wouldn't want to have to send stuff to me.

You're in the US, right? It's not a lot more to send a CD there, I think ... C'mon, do it :)

Yeah but your computer will - and all my stuff is mp3 anyway so there's no sound quality advantage in my burning it to audio, and if we can do it as mp3 then I can get shedloads more stuff on.

Maybe there should be an option when you sign up? Whether you can accept mp3 or not?

It's about £1.50 to send a CD to the states, which shouldn't be prohibitively expensive.
