I've never understood that Collins as the cheeky lad and houswife's favourite reputation - he's just another short balding podgy guy after all.

As much as I hate his politics and crappy tunes I can't say I give too much of a shit about a bloke who's so entirely inconsequential these days. The last time I think I saw an appearance of him was on Brass Eye, with old PC making a prize prat of himself.

And tbh he's just another one of those inexplicably popular white-soul singer tosspots isn't he. I hated Michael Bolton even more in the same genre.

Agreed. Life of Brian was remarkably prescient there. The bit when the whole crowd says "Yes! We are all individuals" in unison was very much like that. Mind you I guess there has always been an element of that in rock music. People being so 'rebellious' that they are just conforming.

Right, I'm going to tactically vote this time. My inital hate response urges me to click Phill Collins, but I think he'll walk this heat and I want to wait and see who else there might need a final push in votes late on.

Arse, i wish i'd taken your approach - i've jumped in with Collins and he's miles ahead already. Though after the Sting debacle of the last round, it's probably better for my blood pressure that i don't get too involved in this one.

I guess so. I have to confess that I didn't actually think of him when making my original nominations.

I'm also disappointed that funkacidjazz wank like Corduroy or JTQ didn't make any of the final polls. I guess it's that bit too obscure. If they were better known they would have though.
