There was nothing wrong with our system. We just weren't as good as the other teams.

Your formation suggests no midfield, and two banks of three, but that makes no sense because the pitch is long and narrow.

This is my tactics - see what you think. They worked well in a six a side - beating the tourno's second favourites in our works tourno 1-0.

The main man is the CM- his role is the hardest though - Roy Keane - David Platt roled into one.......Supporting the defence and attack - up and down the pitch........

SW is the stopper - Sol Campbell/Rio Ferdinand - supporting the attack when he can -

DR - Gary Neville getting forward when poss - but main job is to be steady.

DL - Ashley Cole - constant up and down the flank.....

R - Wayne Rooney for the Mancs role -

L - Damian Duff for Chelsea role.....

I had a word with the gaffer last night and she wants to have four subs - therefore play a high tempo game.

What do you think to the idea? It's more front foot football - but at the same time it's not too kamikaze...

second thoughts - what about 2 at the back....3 in midfield and one up front....

Aaaaaah, it's great to back! :)

at last lazy Hatter gets his arse into the footy forum to get on this thread. But fuck me lads, 3 pages and it's only been a day!

I am bang up for some more footy. I can play anywhere in defence but I'm getting more into the midfield role - that's where the action is! Maybe the Roy Keane holding role, innit. I'm also fit enough to run from box to box at the moment (cycling lots and not smoking) - long may it last!

Kublai is gaijingirl's boyfriend and played with a us a few times on Mondays - top chap. He's Quick and good at taking players on - would make a good winger I think, tho I reckon he could play anywhere. We need a playmaker in the middle of the park - that could be him!

Ferndale are fcuking useless and still haven't sorted me out. I reckon when the clocks change at the end of the month we should start playing in Brockwell park, regents park and clissold park after work. If we want to hire somewhere, no worries about numbers - i have at least 6 or 7 mates who would defo turn up regularly. Also have a portugese mate called Crespo who is top drawer and dead keen to get involved again.

By the way, i went tot eh FA yesterday for a meeting. As well as seeing the FA Cup, Charity SHield and a replica of the Jules Rimet in their trophy cabinet, I was given a book on coaching techniques. I tell you lads, once we read that fucker and integrate the successful characteristics of Brazil's 2002 world cup winning squad into our team, nae fucker will be able to stop us, hahaha! :D

Naw, three in midfield with people breaking forward, I don't think it's worth it to leave one up front.

I wouldn't mind a go in midfield either, hate being a defender

I posted a couple of formations - the two either side up front is good - but puts a lot on the midfielder. I had Flims down as the main man in midfield - but thought about you in that role too.

If we play one up front - they either have to be good at turning or good at holding up the ball - laying it off and getting in the six yard box for the tap ins.

Was chatting with Rollem - she wants more folk this time - so she can switch it around more. 4 subs each game.

Eg - start with say -

...............T...............

...............R................

..SK......................BH.

...............F...............

..CF.....................LD....

Then bring on - Kublai, Corporate Whore, Ringo and Cheg - for the second half for four others.....

The way I see it - I can play centre back, right defence, right mid, striker, but not central midfield - no way man...

BH - midfield, defence,

yourself - midfield

CF - left or right mid

Flims - midfield defence

Kublai and CW - midfield/attack

OIC & Cheg - defence

LD - left mid

....etc - we can mix it up......

Of course - which position do you play?

Favoured position was R back or R wing. Haven't played a competitive game for about 6 years though I should add in fairness. I'll play anywhere though.

how come from July? is that when your pro season finishes ;)

Well yeah, not 'pro' :D but the two big events I'm training for will be over. Before that I can't risk any ankle or knee injury.:)

ah, that's fair enough.. what if I kneecap you so you can't cycle, but can play football.. that wouldn't piss you off or anything?

Yeah, we could do with more options, definitely - We could have a couple of timewasting substitutions at the end a la Mourhino.

I'm not sure 4 substitutes will be allowed; we should check first.

I prefer 1-2-1-2 to any '3 in midfield' stuff.

And 1-2-1-2 is not that different to 1-2-2-1 - that I suggested.

Midfield is my position, obviously - if we've got a striker to play up front we could be looking pretty damn good.

Midfield on the left is my favourite position too. However, I'm happy to play where ever the team needs me.

"Left Right Out" even. :p

I won't be throwing a strop as I'll be having early nights. :o

I need something to help me cut down on drugs and drink and this sounds perfect.

Regents Park is best for me as I work very near there now. But I don't mind travelling too much.

at this stage there's no point talking tactics, however fun and debate ridden, lets just concentrate on actually playing during the week / weekends!

yeah - I reck the 1-2-1-2 is best.

Am happy to play anywhere but central midfield....

lol sleater...

getting a bit technical already, and we haven't even met up yet. But, as someone has mentioned, the sooner we do the better, we only had a half dozen training sessions and one proper game before the tourno last year and we didn't actually do that badly. so 3/4 months of playing together regularly and we'll be sorted. Flims' - do you reckon we could use the same strip as last year?

the great thing about that day was watching England get beat by France :D

as for everyone being a midfielder, I think last year proved I wasn't a striker, and I can't defend, so I have to be a midfielder :p

Last year we were better with me in midfield and you up front, compared to the other way around though! :p

And I play midfield week in week out.

In a 7-a-side game, you can't defend with 2 of your players standing around the half way line - you can't really do that in 11-a-side - so Relahni's formation does have to change when we don't have the ball.

I wouldn't mind trying my chances as the big hoofing centre forward! Could be a laugh for a change... :D

I remember that during one season that I played for Eastcombe Village Under 14s (quality team lads) I played every position on the pitch over the course of the season except left wing!
