Horsham game now unconfirmed again as i believe they need to replay with Walton Casuals due to player registration issues.

Yes, but I've left it as it is until the League confirms....

Haven't heard anything, but the Bostik League website also shows it as postponed, but no explanation:

The Velocity Trophy 17-18 - The Bostik Football League

My first thought was that they may have a Surrey Senior Cup tie taking precedence, but they've already been knocked out of that competition.

We've got a bye into the next round; Walton Casuals have been thrown out for fielding an ineligible player against Horsham, in a game which was replayed because, er, Horsham fielded an ineligible player. Absolute quality.

Can't understand why the first match was replayed. In league matches a team fielding an ineligible player forfeits any points won, and their opponents aren't given those points or the chance to win them in a replayed match.

We're now in the quarter finals.

Any chance of the Wingate game being held on the 19th instead (the original albeit rearranged game for that date)?

It's a bit short notice to start moving games we don't really need to, and playing the week before Xmas tends to shave a few off the attendance figure at the best of times. We already have a home game with Leiston on Sat 23rd too.

It is a possibility, and being looked at, albeit that it might be too short notice. But playing it on the 19th, or a Tuesday in January I don't think will make much difference to the gate. In fact I think it might help in that SOME 'Saturday regulars' who are on family duties or away for the Christmas period, might be able to squeeze in the midweek one on the 19th, if it was re-arranged for then.

Bear in mind that if we reschedule that league fixture for the 19th W&F have a Trophy game on the Saturday, so our game could be off again if they require a replay.

And even if they lose, their opponents might have fielded an ineligible player...

I read this comment until the end.

Then I re-read it five times with 'Dulwich Hammer's' voice ringing in my mind. Ab-so-lute Qua-lity. Keeper.

I would so totally agree with you if there was any prize money. In the League Cup prize money only kicks in from the quarter final, which we have now reached, without the expense of playing a home game.

There's also no football league programme that night (barring the whatever bastard sponsor it is now cup) so may prove a mid-week fix for the part-timers
