I'm a bit disappointed at a local like William'o'W says that a bus is "unavoidable"...

...in fact you could go to Denmark Hill BR (from Victoria for example and maybe London Bridge/Waterloo East?) and then a 5 minute or so walk, although I doubt there will be a very frequent service late NYE.
bloody long walk down that hill, tho....
apart from that, absolutely right

Yeah, TeeJay pulled me up on that one proper :o

It's not THAT far down the hill ... but the train's only a good option if you can come from Victoria. The London Bridge route is pretty circuitous I think

No it's not:

South Bermondsey, Quenn's Rd Peckham, Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill.

have a good'un all, i shall be spending new years with a hand picked select few, being sober and proper like good parents should

;)

see you at the an unsound soon......

Is this the kind of thing you have to book in advance, or will it be possible to get on the door?

That reggae/dub room sounds like just the ticket... :D

Wooohoooo.... :)

Particularly nice that the Red Star will be the location - I've always thought it was a great location consistently let down by awful nights.

On the door see the link above hun :)
belated thank'ee! :)
ETA: attention brixtonites! I am recently informed that a certain utterly loathesome ex-proprietor (?) of Living Bar on CHL is no longer involved in any way, shape or form with red star!

When the Redstar first opened it was great 'cos I think it had an hour later license then funky munky, and Barbushka shut at about 12 then IIRC.

It all just went downhill after a while thougjh and the last time I went in there was about 3 years ago and it was pretty empty.

The doorman were a bit much too with searching the guy I was with

I have no idea about the other thing LOL

Is the Red Star this place: http://www.redstarbar.co.uk If so, I assume that this website hasn't been updated since the Unsound deal ... the NYE listing doesn't sound quite accurate! :D

Love this quote about their NYE "No to anorak wearing drum & bass fans being all moody like with their stupid caps. Yes to dressed up for it party people"

.......goes off to dig out bestest dealer's outfit.

The bar has a unique style with 70s wallpaper, lots of comfortable sofas and effect lighting.
Err... great!

:D

Let's hope the listing is wrong too!
NYE Special 8pm - 6am
Its an 80's pop and rock spectacular...
No to anorak wearing drum & bass fans being all moody like with their stupid caps. Yes to dressed up for it party people

Tee hee!

If you look at the website for their 'sister bar', the dire Living in Brixton, it's also claiming to have "a unique retro style with 70s wallpaper and lots of comfortable sofas" - in fact, all of their bars are equally 'unique'!

Oh dear. Living does Pole Dancing lessons too.
