Unpleasant food in Cambridge for Americans and small children

Why is Cambridge so rubbish for food? It was rubbish in my day, and apparently still is. :(

* Students have no money and have not yet developed a refined palate.

* Tourists will not be repeat custom, so are ripe for ripping off with the cheapest possible ingredients and service.

It's a bad combo. If you want good eating, go to where the old people retire. Excellent quality and cheap too, because old people know a good thing when they see it.

The Hungry Horse has enormous portions and hundreds of screaming children. Sounds perfect for your needs. Also, you can prop up the bar and leave them to it.

Somewhat off-topic, but are the English Center-Parcs really that awful? I've been to a French one and thought it was fantastic with the family.
