Unknown to you bands that blew you away live?

Just realised I've got another one, again from Primavera (this year): Beirut. Had never heard of them before - fortunately perplexis had and pointed me in the right direction, the perfect musical experience for that moment.

Bit of an odd one this but I saw Killing Joke at the Ritz in Manchester about 1981 ish and they were supported by Dead or Alive.
Wayne Hussey was still a member and Pete Burns hadn't had all the surgery of course - but they were a bloody good band back then. Bought a few singles and a great 12" ep called 'It's Been Hours Now' and then they went all disco!!!!!

Mama Shamone at Bestival '07 (Hadn't even heard of this lot!)

... I'm sure there's more but those are the first two that spring to mind

heard a couple of tunes on Peel, they were supporting Throwing Muses
at a tiny club in Brum, first UK dates. looked like a good night out.

Fuckin' Hell

plenty more but that's the first one to come to mind.

I seen a group called The Destroyers at Drop Beats not Bombs in Brumingham in April this year. They were really ace but no idea who they were.
