United / Liverpool - Fa Cup biggy

Motson is an inept twat who is well past his sell-by date. Everything he says in commentary is preceeded by an "Ohhhhh....!!!" exclamation as if he is seeing something new after over 30 years in the game. Perhaps he has advanced Alzheimer's and he's merely forgotten everthing he has previously seen. He is also prone to giggling to himself and failing to share the joke with his audience.

During Euro 2004 he commented on Sol Campbell charging down the right wing. It was, in fact, Darius Vassell.

Crap cunt. Nearly as crap as that Vidjic character for manure :D

No he didn't! People - including commentators really need to learn their right from their left. Ball hit his right leg, his left leg broke because his studs caught in the turf.

Obviously that's what actually happened but my version is far better folklore material .

Luis Garcia ended Roy Keane's Utd career too ;)

indeed - two broken limbs in the last two games at Anfield.

Henry Winter, Daily Telegraph :-

'It was disappointing and surprising to hear Sir Alex Ferguson deride Liverpool's ability to 'play for only five minutes and win the game' when he won a European Cup in 90 seconds.
As the former European champions are too ambitious and proud to take real succour from next Sunday's League Cup, Ferguson must recognise that his last hope of significant silverware this season was shredded by opponents showing more desire and intelligence'.

Read and learn Manc losers :p

That's pretty funny. Watching the game as a neutral I saw nothing in either team that suggested they could challenge Chelsea in the league.

Man U looked toothless in midfield, far too lightweight and with no invention. The tactic seemed to be either a) pass it to Ronaldo and hope he can pull off a trick, or b) get it to Rooney and support him as he holds it up.

LFC didn't look particualrly inspired either...hoof it to Crouch or hope Gerrard can work something. Defensively a great team - good keeper, nice balance at the back...but going forward  Kewell delivered maybe 2 decent crosses all game, Gerrard was busy but clearly felt the weight of having to carry the team. And Morientes is a waste of space - he was bought about 3 years too late to be any good. Get him and Cisse out and try and buy a decent forward.

If Gonzalez gets his passport I expect him to walk straight into the team - he was very good last week in La Liga.

But it was a cup game as opposed to a league game y'see - against bitter local rivals. Not often pretty games. United were worse than usual and Liverpool showed more desire.

Chelsea were crap yesterday against lowly Colchester by the way.

That's good to hear. Hope he keeps injury free! Gerrard back in the middle and a tidy right winger would be good.

more desire, kept the ball better, had the most chances etc etc.

United are fucked without a midfield.

As much as it pains to me to say it but they looked much more threatening when they went route one at the end and just skipped out their useless central midfield.

I think it's wrong to have go at players like Fletcher, Smith or O'Shea, they try their best but they just aren't world class players and certainly shouldn't be within 6 places of a team looking to win in Europe.

Saha is wasted at United, he's a good player but he's hardly likely to hit a rich vein of form coming on for twenty minutes each game.

Horse face - won 2 cups in how many years?
Last cup Pie face won - was for an u-13's team.
The keeper is getting on.
Sylvestre, Brown, Coke head - have their moments but aren't that great.

The new defender - Evra? Looks a pile of shite.

A past it manager -

happy days!!!!!!! :)

I thought Evra looked promising against Liverpool in the 1-0 league victory.

Why Syvestre is in I'll never know. Brown has been uniteds most inspiring defender of late.

Rooney and Van are the deadly strike force in the league, they just need more service. Ronaldo makes Luis Garcia look like John O'Shea.

And Stevie G has athe haircut of a naughty 6 year old.

Too be honest at the mo, liverpool and utd are very closely matched, though both someway off Chelsea, the interesting thing in the summer will be as to who comes in, if Utd buy a couple of world class midfielders which I suspect they will and Liverpool sort out their strikers and all gel which is the big if..... the title will again be up for grabs. Utd have the basis for a great team though as long as the likes of Fletcher and Silvestre are plying their trade they won't win jack....we shall see though it could be worse .....at least we are not as woeful looking as arsenal :)

Rooney hasn't scored in about 13 matches has he?

aye cos Rooneys main contribution is just goals?

and considering how deep he has to drop to get some fucking service thanks to the non existant mid field it's hardly suprising.

Sorry. My error. When you referred to him and Van Stableboy as 'the deadly strike force' I assumed you were talking about goal scoring.

I wasn't disputing the statement. I merely pointed out that Shrek was in the middle of a goal drought at the moment.
