Underworld live

cheers for the links mr bees :) Downloading right now.

Aside: I bought one of them live CD things of Coldcut at The Big Chill last year. The mastering was so bad I can't bear to listen to it. Hopefully they've gotten a bit better since then.

Are you sure it's not just that Coldcut are really, really dull.

The sounded pretty good then. Although my critical faculties weren't exactly at their peak at the time.

they were very good :D listening to the cd now

but I hated most of the audience :o if you fancy a pint and a chat, maybe the pub is a better option than a fucking crowded dance gig

I got so fed up with people telling me off for dancing I left our group and worked my way in front of the speaker stack where I was amongst people all dancing like fools :D

one bloke tutted cos I wasn't stood still

That was brilliant :D

Crowd was a bit odd. All a bit 'it's grim up north London' types. You could squint and just about picture them as gurning munters from ten years ago but I felt a bit out of place. Especially 'cos I wanted to dance and some of them wanted to drink and chat

We went to the side and found some like minded dancey types. Crowd generally was a bit slow to kick off but by half way through it was getting nicely sweaty. Fair play to the people in the seats who got their whole half of the balcony on their feet whilst the other half slept soundly.

Underworld are the business, the people going to see them are somewhat odd in many cases.

I'm listening to it again now

Cowgirl is just as fantastic as it was last night

I expect the rest to be the same

I did a copy for my friend, and she says thanks jittug :)

who needs drugs to feel the underworld rush? not us :D
but let's face it, it would have been better with a cartload of them

Born Slippy just finished, the ending of that last night was just gorgeous

which means it's time for King of Snake

Tonight was amazing!!! Just got back..opened up with MmmSkyscraper I Love You, played a few other classics, Moaner, Pearls Girl, King Of Snake, Nuxx, Cowgirl/Rez, 2 Months Off, a couple of new tracks including Crocodile and plenty more besides.

The crowd went mental when Moaner built to a climax. Absolutely nuts atmosphere!! Smoke, strobes, visuals, Karl Hyde going apeshit with a live video camera. Finished off with a bit of Jumbo. Lovely!

Say what you want but I've seen a fair few of the big dance acts from the nineties, Underworld, Faithless, Orbital, Daft Punk, Chemicals, Prodigy, Jaxx etc and Underworld outclass them ALL. End of.

<remembers it took him a week and stops tapping>

:D

piss off, this is practically the first chance I've had to sit down this week!

They're mixing the sets up, Wednesday night they opened with Cowgirl

In the article he linked to ;)

"“It is with great regret that we have had to postpone tonight’s performance at the Roundhouse due to severe illness within the band

More details to follow as soon as possible, and In the meantime we appreciate your understanding and patience.”"

Oh dear :(

they all looked OK on Wednesday. from my vantage point several yards away and looking over the heads of hundreds of people.

Bummer about the gig last night being cancelled :(

Any news what happened? Who was ill? Hope it wasn't anything too serious. Get well soon whoever it is :(
