Ever since a dentist conned me into getting veneers on my front teeth (long story), I've been too concerned to eat apples. :(
 
Mushy apples suck.

Ever tried crisp green etc etc with mature cheddar cheese? <drooools> I have that for breakfast every day :cool:
I ent a fan of sweet/savoury in the same dish. Went to some posh hotel the other day to take me nan out on her birthday.Ordered a cheese sarnie, and The fuckers put apple slices in it:mad:
 
Kale and other cabbages
Celery, when chopped and used in a braise
Wholewheat pasta
Brown rice
Gnocchi
Tinned beans such as haricot and cannellini
Leeks
 
Offal, especially ox heart, calves liver, lambs kidneys, chicken/duck/goose livers and hearts, gizzards....

Gnocchi? Do people really not rate gnocchi? Gnocchi are like my favourite pasta.

A perfectly ripe, juicy William pear can not be beaten. Not awfully keen on the tin foil skin of the conference variety but once past that the flesh is tasty. Pears are my absolute favourite fruit of all time, ever, and can also be made into perry, which is also fabulous.
