That bit where he goes blah de blah, so mystic and soulful... (or something like that)

I thought he was singing ''Lipstick and soulfood".

Midge Ure is about as mystic and soulful as newly poured concrete that has been pissed in by a cow.

On a related note, Midge Ure is having health problems.

BBC:
Midge Ure has had to cancel his upcoming tour due to a health issue needing "urgent" treatment.
The Ultravox singer will perform in August but take time off from September, with shows dropped in Australia and across Europe.
Ure, 71, wrote on social media: "During a recent routine check-up, doctors discovered a health issue that requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery."

Its a fucking amazing record. I was a bit sniffy about it at the time, being a John Foxx fan an all, but with age it only got better and better. There's nothing else like it. Makes my spine tingle.

I like 'Vienna' and 'Shaddup You Face'. Have had both on 7" for many years.
I saw a YouTube video about shapp you face an turns out there's a serious side to it. firstly i didn't know the guy was a yank, an he was inspired to write the song because of prejudice against irish americans in the US. So I have some respect or it now.

Ultravox's early stuff was good; the later stuff wasn't. It's not often that Vienna and Shaddup You Face are mentioned in the same sentence; however, it makes absolute sense, to me.

wooo

(bet he's still got family up there though)

I think he does - seems to be in Glasgow regularly enough and one of his Ultravox bandmates has lived in Forres for many years.

Astradyne is the tune off the Vienna Album that has had the longest life with me. I still have it in a few playlists even today.
