I haven't tried it your way, it just doesn't sound right - do you melt the cheese then plonk the beans on top? Or leave the heat of the beans to melt the cheese?

Does it make the bread less soggy?

Some would argue that melting cheese doesn't do a lot for it's flavour either

Butter both sides of bread. One spoon of beans on bread. Sprinkle large quantity of hashish onto beans. Grate cheese over the top. Layer of mayo above that and then the second slice of bread. Jam lid of toasted sarnie maker down for a few minutes, then eat.

Satisfies munchies and sets up next munchie mission all in one.

I'm with electrogirl on this one. I've never thought of putting cheese on top of the beans. It's cheese on toast, with bean on. Ideally with a bit of marmite under the cheese and some pickle, brown sauce or veggie worcester sauce in mixed in with the beans

Good malted grain toast.
Well cooked (stodged up ) beans.
Grated cheese on top (would go back under the grill for extra meltage if our grill worked).
