Ultimate Dancefloor Tune

Which reminds me - Circus Bells, Robert Armani, but the Hardfloor mix. Absolute killer, and it was nice that it came out just when I'd started taking pills and partying (93). Total classic.

Blondie - "Heart of glass"

DeeLite - "Groove is in the Heart"

House of Pain - "Jump Around"

Urban All Stars - "It Began In Africa"

King Bee - "Back by Dope Demand"

Young MC - "Know How"

Leftfield - "Not Forgotten" (Remix)

Etc

Where Love Lives - Alison Limerick, original mix
Feel What you Want - Kristine W
Sprung Aus Der Volken - DJ Hell
Energy Flash - Beltram
Horsepower - Ravesignal 3
Aceprience - Hardfloor
Pretty much any Prodigy tune

And loads more...TBH I can't answer this question with a single track - maybe about 50 or so if I sat down and thought about it long enough...

Josh Wink - 'A Higher State Of Consciousness'.

and that's just goes to prove my own personal theory that the "Acid" in your user name refers to a 303 squelchy type acid, rather than a seeing funny things type acid.

Or of course I could just be wrong, and should really do better things than sit around and pontificate about the meaning of people's user names. :o

Ooooh, I've just remembered an absolute killer from early 94 - I wonder if anybody remembers it? It's on Limbo records and it's called TGV by, erm... it might have been Gypsy, or Havana (which Gypsy was one half of). It's a huge, hugely chunky tribute to the TGV and absolutely ripped the place apart every time it came on (tho the only DJ I ever heard play it was Paul Evolution, who was a big influence on my DJing style btw). Through a contact in the recording industry I somehow ended up inviting Gypsy along to a couple of Funtasy parties in Trenz in Stoke Newington back in 94 and got him massively munted - he was saying he'd never been to parties like that before and was really blown away with it all.

Papua New Guinea - Andy Weatherall mix

Either that or Energy Flash.

That looks like it comes straight from an Urbanites playlist from a couple of years back!

Probably my reply to a 'Ideal DJ set' thread or summat...:D

The first rebirth on bonsai (and later prolecult) used to do it for me. Went well with that higher state of conciousness too!

Mmmm, Prolekult, lots of classics on there: Baby Doc & The Dentist - Tales of the Seraphim. I liked a lot of Jon the Dentist's stuff until he started making the same tune again and again.

Cor, the first time I heard that was at the Cooltan in the summer of 94 - I found it absolutely devastating. But then it got played to death and it stopped working for me. It was a Big Huge Tune though.

Anybody remember Sourmash? Their track on Prolekult, (number 001 - their first release) was a pure classic. Oddly enough it used the same samples and sounds as Nexus, on Noom records number 6 but I don't think it's actually the same tune? Or am I wrong? I'm not sure.

Anyway, talking about Noom, number 8 was a totally mentalistic acid tune (by Tandu I think) which always got everybody going somewhat!

Pilgrimage to Paradise? Fucking classic! :)

Oooh and while we're on Noom records ... Mandala - Astralia.

Yeah, I listed it as one of my tunes about 15 posts ago :p

Now that OU's turned up I suppose I ought to say "Red Planet Star Dancer", so I can stay in his impeccably tasteful good books. :)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Crock of shit, I say, crock of shit.
I quite liked 'If Everybody Looked The Same', and 'At The River' was smooth, but I always suspected that GA were basically Jaxx without the funk.

And stuff like 'I See You Baby' has dated somewhat - as opposed to 'Red Alert' and 'Rendez Vu', which could have been recorded last week.

I hate Groove Aramada from the bottom of my heart - they are the complete antithesis of everything that is good about 'electronic' music. They are the U2 of the dance world. Fucking cunts.
