I think i have mentioned before how many nominally progressive students appear to have really unpleasant and right wing views on benefits, 'the underclass' etc, its not just one or two. It desn't bode well for the future, the lack of robust responses to media misrepresentations of those on welfare by the left, etc, hasn't helped.

Being a bit of an old fart, the thing that strikes me most forcefully on every thread I've read is the inability of most of the more right-wing posters to articulate an argument. They seem to have the critical faculties of a 12-yr old, and the debating skills of Joey Deacon.
