I thought Khardung La was the highest I've been but Everest Base Camp on the Tibet side is higher (5545m according to wiki) so I'd like a prize for that too please. It was really fucking cold up there, funnily enough.

I realise this blows all my traveller cred but I have never been to prison. I'm cutting my dreadlocks off in shame as we speak.

The shame of it. Get a poppy seed roll and fly to Dubai or something. You'll be guilty but innocent but still might get banged up temporarily if you leave a few poppy seeds stuck between your teeth as evidence of your crime

I thought about leaving the shire last weekend - but the bus was cancelled. I ended up going to the local pub - it was quite a relief to not have to step foot outside the village!

At/around sea level, only managed -30 something C in Russia one time. Once went from 42C (Australia) to -18C (ROK) on the same day (and only had t-shirt and shorts). Fortunately the hotel was only a short sprint away.
