Two gigs in a row - which do I go to?

Brixton is a tricky venue to get right!

Don`t think there`s an "in-house" sound but a lot of different touring rigs that get thrown in for one or a couple of nights.

Prob is getting the balcony and the pit to sound good. If your in the middle at the back of the room it sounds "toppy" ( nerd speak for too much highs), if your right at the back it can sound " subby" ( nerd speak for unwelcome bowel movements) and if you`re on the balcony it can sometimes sound "weedy" ( nerd speak for lacking in low mid).

Quad stacking on the ground floor using the back balconies is always a winner ...I`ve done a fair few "raves" ( nerd speak for relentless banging sub bass) in there with F1 and it has been awesome throughout the ground floor as they have the balcony closed.

It`s just an odd shaped room with lots of holes for bad sound to hide!

Best thing is to get proper pissed and jump about ...then you won`t notice the sound?

Actually that was good but they had five nights to perfect it or think of the consequences from the dark ones. Think they had a very good German crew with them for that tour.

Think it was two gigs one week and two the next - I went to the second night of each - both times the sound was immense

I was stood (dancing) by the sound desk for the Chemical Bros in Dec and I thought the sound was great.

I'm going on the 2nd night BTW I loved G'n'R when I was young and never got to see them live.

That was a fun week. Aaron and the crew and their support band for the Euro dates (The Po Po - check them out; much better than Ladytron) spent most of their spare time on the piss in the Windmill. Don't think Trent ever turned up but I was in no state to know!
