I'm backing the Beeb after ITV's double whammy of Howard from the Halifax doing Titanic swiftly followed by an ad for the new Coldplay album.

Listening to Lawrenson and Motson these days is like listening to Wogan do Eurovision. They just take the piss.

You know, I can picture you crying at your computer screaming: "LEAVE LAWRO ALONE!" at the monitor in a high-pitch voice, whilst writing that post. :)

Well if people left Lawro alone i wouldn't have to say anything. I think Lawro is a great pundit and love his jokes and quotes. I can't see why so many people dislike him he is the perfect roll model.

He's a miserable man, who might actually be an interesting pundit if he didn't spend half of the time making snide and sarcastic comments and the other half looking after Motson (though to be fair that's hardly his fault).

He's only slightly less objectionable than Alan Green, who really is the most odious little feck to commentate a game. His reports are full of superiority complexes and opinionated waffle - he seems to think he's on his own version of the Jon Gaunt show on TalkSport. He spends most of his time complaining about Ferguson chewing gum, or the person in front of him, or the commentators next to him, or anything other than reporting on the fucking game

Sometimes they're put together, and then my radio starts to melt out of survival instinct :(

A typical Alan Green half of commentary is.

10 minutes of Alan Green on Alan Green

15 minutes complaining about supporters being A) too quiet, B) too loud, C) standing up when the game gets exciting

15 minutes complainig about a minor refereeing decision

2 minutes commentary on football

3 minutes silence.....

^ Spot on about Alan Green there lads, the moaning wanker.

I've gone for ITV just because Clive Tildsley makes me laugh, albeit not intentionally.
BBC pundits are far better I'd agree, but Motson should have been pensioned off 10 years ago & the perma-tanned Lineker is getting far too smug for his own good these days. Shame Peacock's bugging off to Canada to become a fully fledged bible basher (if true) - he's one of the best pundits around.

Lawro and Motson last night on the France vs Italy game:

Motson: "Could have the referee have given Abidal a yellow card?"

Lawro: "Yes."

Lawro did actully have good line about anelka showing us some good pouting last night.
