The Ion iTT USB05 USB Turntable, is this thing any good at all? If not what kinda price should one be expected to pay for a decent deck? I am no audiophile, im just getting increasingly put off by CDs, there just so cheap and seem pointless when i can torrent the album anyway.

I think the idea is that PAY for them, that way the ARTIST gets paid for the hard work they do giving YOU the music. Jesus christ, seems music lovers just don't love music enough to pay for it these days.

Fuck the CDs - go to the live shows.

I earn £50 a week which id rather spend down the pub than give to some millionaire who frankly doesn't need the money. I think thats a problem these days, people are so starved of decent music that there helping shite musicians like pete doherty or jonny borrell make a fortune. Last CD i bought was the third LP from the black lips, a bunch of guys who deserve and probably need the money.

So imagine your boss decided you were crap and decided not to pay you... would you be happy?

If i was worth one tenth of what these guys are i wouldn't give a damn. You just can't draw parallels between our ordinary lives and that of a person who dons the front page of the Rolling Stone. Besides, from a CD most of the money goes to the record company, in a way subversplat is right, go see em live, at least the band then gets most of the money. Don't get me wrong i enjoy buying a decent album, and if its good i dont begrudge the band a penny. Just what is wrong with listening to an album you wouldnt previously had a chance to listen to because you were wary of paying £10 for something that may be crap. Pretty much most of the bands i now listen to are because i downloaded there album for nothing.

Acoustic research decks and the Dual CS503 what are these worth on the second hand market because I'm looking at getting a decent turntable.
Also Michell synchro?
I have about 200 to spend for deck with tone arm (not so worried about stylus cartridge yet)?
