Turnmills, so great nobody mentioned its shut

add me and a a little mob of about 8 - 14 others to that list depending on who was out that night / day anytime between 91 -93 - on to Villa Stefano for the original DTPM / possibly Full Circle , and back to the hellpit that was FF on rare occasions ....some amazing and fucked up times

anyone remember Space that preceded Trade / was the "straight Trade " on Fridays ? very naughty, v amazing, big black lads with no tops on smoking rocks, Smoking Jo / Laurence Nelson playing piano screamers , jumpers for goalposts ......deranged... ended very badly after a couple of months unfortunately ....

i probably met/hugged you at some point

trade, dtpm, ff

guilty on all counts :)

happy days....seems we ended up in the same part of the world as well....my local high street looks a bit like FF at 5 on a monday morning sometimes, but that's another story.

It had some amazing nights though. One night that springs to mind was a blind date I had from a personals ad in Time Out - his ad not mine. It was 91 or 92 and we went to Trade (I think we might have been the only two straight people in there - bizarrely he had a membership) and the whole blind date was carried out whilst under the influence of New Yorkers. I showed up wearing only a bra and pants under a fur coat. I can't remember what he wore but we had a ball indeed and I went nowhere else but Trade for about a whole year, because everywhere else just paled in comparison. I've got a little bit of grit in my eye thinking about that place......
pink new yorkers.! wow that takes me back, that place was my life for over 6 years, late teens to early twenties spent there,mis-spent youth, the people were off it big time,i agree the bouncers were pumped up muscle mary's with attitude, trade was the night of the week you never missed, the restaraunt downstairs on the left was the place to show your face, get your supplies wink wink, and thr drinks were watered down rubbish and mortgage money, but the music and the people made that place, mrs woods, smoking jo,blue peter, tasty tim,fat tony, knew them all well, the dodgy scouser terry ran the cafe if you can call it that but great bloke, wouldnt have been anywhere else, very seedy, toilets a joke with no cold water taps, overheated to make more money on drinks, but sheer class

anyone remember the new years eves dates? they were class, one new years tony de vit, sasha, mrs woods, then to play out all the classics was tall paul, the owners son,ex copper i think, big fat bastard with a dodgy moustache, the var staff were more off there nuts than us sometimes,i dunno how we did all those hours, garage on fridays,go through with no sleep till sat night,2hours kip then down trade by 4am,leave there smashed,oh yeah the light of day on the way out,and those fucking dodgy minicabs, then go straight to d.t.p.m at villa stephanos, finish up back at turnmills for ff and that was the wind down night just chilling and drinking in the cafe trying to come down,if you were very off it still on monday goto limelights on charing cross road,i remember trade babies on a wednesday, never really took off,but space on fridays before the gallery was ok apart from the local wannabe gangsters, jokers to the left.....happy dayz,if anyone knows me from back in the day get in touch,i'm in cardiff now,be lucky

Trade is now at Egg for its occasional reunions and a bit more after hours 12noon to midnight. Went to one a couple of months ago and music was good.

you missed out troll on Saturday night - a perfect warm up for Trade

just a reminder and a classic end of night at trade tune, enjoy your white doves ppl lmao

Lock Up was deffo a Tall Paul end of night ( 11 am ish :)) tune @ Trade, but actually started life at Space ( mentioned up thread, about a decade ago  ) , the v edgy, short lived Fri night 90 / 91' Turnmills night ( Smokin Jo used to play it, and FFRR bod heard it there / off his head, natch) ...

and I finally recently found some online evidence of Space's brief , glorious existence :
