i offer you Mr Pharmacist by the Fall and - bizarrely - Beaver Patrol by Pop Will Eat Itself.

and?

Who is Mr. Pharmacist by then? And is it any good?

I didn't know it wasn't by the fall.

Leaving on a jet plane.

Was gutted when I found out Ben Affleck hadn't just conjured it up to sing to Liv in Armageddon :(

your not thinking of Without You?

who wrote I Don't To Talk About It - listening to Crazy Horses version right now, did they do it first?
re Rod - Reason To Believe (Tim Hardin), Downtown Train (Tom Waits)- Tom Tranter's Blues too but don't know how many people know that one to start with.

Tom Petty - Heart Of Gold (Neil Young)

eta: Dirty Old Town

Dirty Old Town was written and sung by Ewan McColl many years ago for a radio ballad. It is about Salford as many people know and is nothing to do with Ireland as is supposed by many Pogues fans.

Blue Suede shoes was sung by Carl Perkins before Elvis the young upstart took it up and made it famous.

It wasn't just sung by Perkins, it was written by him and all. Inspired by a story told by Johnny Cash.
