Tues 27th May: NEW NIGHT! Brixton Variety Night with hurdy gurdy, comedy, poets-FREE!

Even managed to get folk dancing to some old skool phat tunes at the end - result! :D

Wicked :D:cool:

Top night indeed. Salt and Blue were amazing and loved the poets. Bailed early as I was absolutely knackered so didn't catch Nice Peter unfortunately.

Thanks to the editor for a great nights entertainment. He is a genuinely good guy who wants to put on eclectic nights in Brixton - and I totally agree with trying to maintain free entry nights. Respect.

I'm Nice Peter's manager. And whilst picking up a £60 parking penalty kinda put a dampner on things we enjoyed playing the gig in Brixton. Audience reaction seemed to suggest they enjoyed it too.

It was a shame that we upset one lady in the audience who seemingly felt it appropriate to launch a frenzied verbal assault on Pete immediately he came off stage. But, I shall repeat what I told her at the time - Pete was booked to perform and that is what he did - yet the sour faced lady wasn't and therefore has NO right whatsoever to force her opinions down our throats.

She was rude, way over the top and had clearly failed to grasp what Pete's performance is about. I'd advise if you don't like something to either a) leave, b) inform the promoter or c) take a deep breath or twelve and perhaps speak to the act some time after he has got off stage.

Thanks to everyone else for making the night enjoyable. And a special thanks to all the folk who came down from North London on a cold Tuesday night and who no doubt missed the last tube and endured horrendous taxi charges.

Thanks again editor.
