Senators Reject Effort To Roll Back Greenhouse Gas Emissions Rule
I applaud your optimism, but Trump and the lobbyists will come again, in various guises and on multiple issues linked to the environment, both domestic and global.
meh - after numerous attempts from pbman to teach me American politics, all I can really remember is his pride in the American checks and balances.
looks like the checks and balances worked this time
Hawaii defies Trump and becomes first state to legally support Paris Agreement on climate change
There's more than just Hawaii pissed off with TTTs environmental wrecking ball!
Having said that, a lot of GOP states are waking up to the fact that 'there's gold in them thair' solar panels and wind turbines.
Though the driver is cash, rather than enviromental concerns, the US is going full steam ahead, in pushing for RE, TTTs splutterings won't make a happethworth of difference.
Considering how much potential geothermal energy there is for Hawaii to tap into (as well as solar) going all-electric & 100% renewable (including transport) should not present a significant challenge to the state (beyond the costs of shipping in the materials at least)...

Trump administration halts research on mountaintop removal coal mining
Plastic bottles in National Parks ban lifted.
Can't imagine such a ban even being considered in the UK, where we're all now convinced that we'll crumble like an OXO cube if we're not constantly suckling our Evian Sport nipple.
There's a piece in the Graun today about how Borough Market is enacting a similar ban as a side note to reintroducing free water fountains. I think they might be becoming more prevalent in airports too. The government might so something similar as a relatively small gesture to show they care.
Don't OXO cubes crumble in water?
Another 950 jobs lost in the coal industry - guess Trump's efforts to regenerate the coal industry isn't as easy as he thought.
Coal power plant closures ramp up in spite of White House plans
Trump has harvested the votes of the god squad and the global warming sceptics..... If you are in the intersection, surely the unprecedented number of big storms is gods judgement on voting Trump? or is it still gay marriage and there's some sort of smite lag?

Keystone Pipeline leaks 210,000 gallons of oil in South Dakota - CNN
The sentiment is to be applauded. Sadly, I can't imagine that there's any way to legally attribute the effects they've experienced to Trump, his cabal and his policies.
U.S. Steel dumps more toxic chromium near Lake Michigan, faces lawsuit
Wouldn't have come out if not for a bunch of U of Chicago Law Students.
They'll get away with it, I'm sure.
Of course they will. It probably won't even be illegal that much longer.
