True Blood - terrestrial debut tonight (Oct 7th) on C4 at 22.00

I'm on ep 7 of season 2 atm...

I am well jealous of all the peeps watching tonight for the first time. *sighs*

apparently they DID cut loads of sex and violence out - for shame!
Score one for the torrenters then.

I watched the first half -- will catch up with the second half on 4OD at some point.

I might torrent the rest, on the grounds that trying to keep up watching something weekly is hopeless. OTOH, I struggle to get a torrent running higher than 100kb per second, for some reason, which always puts me off doing it.

Enjoyed that, sleazy and funny (and in a way, a perfect counterpoint to the usual 'serious' HBO fare).

What did they cut out then?

I get the feeling I'm going to have to move to torrenting and let Channel 4 know I stopped watching because of the cuts.

Yeah they did cut a few bits. For those that haven't seen more than this episode and are a bit "meh" it gets much, much better - as first eps go I thought it was pretty poor (compared to say Six Feet Under). But after that it hits its stride

It's true -- if you avoided it because you thought that it was teenish, you missed it for the wrong reason. Childish possibly, but not teenish.

I rather liked it but I suspect that I like rather different things to you anyway.

Def gets better....but don't think it's going to be the greatest TV programme, the hyperbole around it it astounding and a sad reflection on the state of TV in general.

I liked it, except for the strident southern accents. I'm sure they're reasonably accurate, but they do grate after a while.
