Trinidad & Tobago v England

I can't say I saw a lot in that England performance to suggest that they've got even the beginnings of a World Cup challenging team.

Er it was only a friendly against trinidad, give it a rest yeah?

Anyway, aslong as the win is convincing then im happy no matter who its against, and thatw as good enough. Great atmosphere all game to.

Convincing win against the footballing powerhouse that it T&T :D It's a useless game because England should be preparing for Euro 2008 but failed to qualify for a major tournament out of what was a fairly average group.

You can blame McLaren if you like but he used a lot of the same players and they did fuck all. So well done on beating teams ranked 21st and 88th...clearly gonna win the World Cup next time!

Can only beat whats infront of you, you guys would talk shit about the games no matter what the outcome. The game wasn't about the result really just trying to please them in order to get the concacaf votes for the world cup bid.

Even if we had put 7 past them it wouldnt have meant that we were looking like we were winning a cup.

It wasn't what it was about. It was basicly a training session with the chance to try out new/fringe players(30 used in 4 games) and yes to try and get the world cup in england for 2018.

the only point of that game was increasing the amount Liverpool will have to pay Aston Villa for Gareth Barry, who was easily the classiest on the pitch all night

Altho i hope this doesnt happen :(, the cheeky scuzzy scouse bastids

The incredibly ambitious goal of the FA is a semi-final. I'd think most other European powers would be encouraging their managers to maybe win the thing :D

Considering we have only got toe the semi(or better) twice, i think thats a fairly ambitious aim to be honest.

Quarter finals and i would be more then happy.

But we can't really consider ourselves one of the major european powers any more. just one of the better middling nations.

You can't say that. It's a deeply held belief for some people that everyone in England thinks our football team is the best and is bound to win the next World Cup at all times.

Suggesting different is probably offensive to their culture or something.:p

Downing, Barry and Bridge looked pretty good together, albeit against very poor opposition. It was refreshing to see actually attack with our left pegs.

I hope Bridge and Woodgate get used against more testing opponents, because they look to have promise. Bridge also needs to leave Chelsea ASAP.
