Triathlon 2008

I've got 2 weeks until bournemouth tri. First ever olympic and first time I've had to race in the sea.

Starting to brick it now, training consisted of too much time in the pub and not enough in the pool - could be.. interesting.

I've still got about 7 weeks of training left, but i've had a couple of weeks of no motivation
 
only 4 days left!

Training had been going very well until 4 weeks ago, i had a busy week and could train for 7 days. When i did i overdid and picked up and injury. I could train for 2 weeks and still have this injury.

I swam 800m yesterday and felt ok. I so HAVE to finish this tri on sunday injury or not!
 
How did it go?

I won a free entry into yesterdays London Tri sprint race. Was chuffed to beat my estimated time by 5 mins :-)

But I still seem to be the slowest person ever through T1 and T2 - really need to work on that.

TBH the tri couldn't of gone any better, but it was tough, really tough. The last hour and a half were just pure pain.
The swim (bare in mind i'd never swum in a wetsuit in open water before) was pretty crazy, swallowed some thames docks water and puked 4 times during the swim, took it really easy and expected that it took me about an hour/
The bike went really well for 30k then i got cramp, but still managed to push myself through the pain and set a pb
the run: i was really pooped by this point, proper fucked and would've been happy with anything under an hour
I'd originally set a target time of 3hrs 30mins. After my 3 moinths of training I changed it to 3hrs 15 minutes

and my official timing was:
swim 42:58
bike 1:22:30
run: 56:09

total 3:11:51

Well chuffed!

I ache ALL over
