Training had been going very well until 4 weeks ago, i had a busy week and could train for 7 days. When i did i overdid and picked up and injury. I could train for 2 weeks and still have this injury.
I swam 800m yesterday and felt ok. I so HAVE to finish this tri on sunday injury or not!
TBH the tri couldn't of gone any better, but it was tough, really tough. The last hour and a half were just pure pain.
The swim (bare in mind i'd never swum in a wetsuit in open water before) was pretty crazy, swallowed some thames docks water and puked 4 times during the swim, took it really easy and expected that it took me about an hour/
The bike went really well for 30k then i got cramp, but still managed to push myself through the pain and set a pb
the run: i was really pooped by this point, proper fucked and would've been happy with anything under an hour
I'd originally set a target time of 3hrs 30mins. After my 3 moinths of training I changed it to 3hrs 15 minutes
and my official timing was:
swim 42:58
bike 1:22:30
run: 56:09
