So are you really incapable of imagining a world without banks then? How do you think people managed before 1700?

Banks are not necessary. Capitalists are not necessary. They need us, we don't need them.

Mostly in a state of life-long, transgenerational servitude, if you want to call that "managing". It's odd to see a 'socialist' looking back fondly on the days of feudalism.

I'm guessing that's how these boards acquired the 'monothought clique' reputation. I'm for diversity of opinion, me.

I'm also for dealing with the world as I find it, which entails living up to one's financial obligations and being honest in one's dealings. Old-fashioned notions, I know; but it's how I was raised.
