Transfer Window

Ah, never mind. They probably do know a bit of Portuguese, come to think of it, seeing as they were at Corinthians.

Is Boa Morte Portuguese for Dead Snake?

nah. "good death" apparently.

Can we have a 'Most disspiriting signing of the transfer window' award?

Cambridge are currently hovering just above the Conference relegation zone on the crest of a slump; it's not looking good.

And the man signed as the answer to our problems?

38 years old, 10 years over the hill, tubby and released by Havant and Waterlooville?

DEAN HOLDSWORTH

DEAN HOLDSWORTH

He cost them a lot of money and scored a fair few goals - two years ago.

I'm not surprised they've released him though. His salary was enormous.

Being near enough to H&W to have a bit of knowledge.

Holdsworth went to work with Phil Brown at Derby and when Brown got sacked, Deano went back to H&W (apparently on less wages than originally...)

If you wanna lower league oddball team, look at Eastleigh - Jason Dodd and Francis Benali (both scummer cunts) playing for them.

They were going to bring in Le Tissier if they'd needed the play-offs to reach Conference South the first year. They always had Saints players around them...

Looks like we're close to signing Luke Rodgers from Crewe, he's making a decision over the weekend according to reports.

Anyone know anything about him?

there is talk in todays paper that Mascherano is going to Liverpool on loan till end of season with a view to a perm deal, Depends on whether FIFA Governing Body will allow it, something to do with him playing for 2 clubs in 1 year

yeah. I know.

well... unless FIFA waive the ruling. which they said they won't. but you never know.

the current rumour doing the rounds of the west ham sites is that he is deliberately not being played in order that he can play the "it's ruining my career" card and therefore we can get shot of him. Magnusson apparently wants him out cos he doesn't like the contract he came on.

not sure that is true, but might explain why we persist in playing hayden mullins instead of him.

It was always a strange deal from the beginning, what would west ham get if they played him for a year and he was great then f**ked off to another club - nothing?

I think so. I think we paid pretty much nothing and we will get pretty much nothing if he left. but to be honest I don't really know.

scored a lot of goals for Shrewsbury a few years ago, had wondered where he'd got to.

got nicked for some automobile related infringement about 5 years back but got off I think. Certainly remember singing 'going down' at him at Gay Meadow but he never got put away in the end.

Hope this is helpful :)

we're doing well, still in two cups and ninth in the league. If we get a good FA Cup fourth round draw and beat Shrewsbury on Tuesday to reach the JPT area final then I'd expect Trollope to be given some money to spend.

skysports reporting that we are "in talks" with SWP.

he doesn't want to come though. I think he'd rather stay at chelsea, or go to newcastle. reportedly we are offering him £75k a week  which might change his mind.... :(

then again, do we really want somebody who doesn't want to be there?

also linked again with quashie... smertin is on his way.

have also heard that NRC has handed in a transfer request.

pardew now saying "bent not for sale."

I wonder who will be signing NRC though... None of the 'big 4' makes much sense, and I doubt many other clubs would want to take on a player with such a big ego.

The midfielders graveyard at Spurs apparently in for Reo-Coker (and Anton Ferdinand), who isn't asking for a transfer but hoping someone comes in with an offer so he can still collect his loyalty bonuses - according to a couple of the rumour mills this morning, anyway.

What a charming fellow, I expect you'd be very sorry to see him go.

Spuds? Why would he want to join Spuds? They're nothing but a bunch of egotistical, overrated, deluded, arrogant, prima donnas. Does he really think he would fit in there?

Hang on, what am I saying? Bon voyage!

When Tevez and him signed, it was widely reported [especially by Sky and the BBC] as being a 'permanent contract'. I thought then that they must have been very badly advised in their own country to do something so daft. But CNN also reported that WestHam had to play them both if they were fit enough - so the club is already in breach of contract if this is true. This report also mentions the financial dealings which are extremely odd.

they are owned by MSI. as far as anybody knows we have signed them but there is a clause in their contract that says anybody can buy them for x amount and we have to sell them. All the money would go to MSI (or Kia Joorabchian.)

They came to us because a) Kia probably thought they would walk into our team, get used to english football and then get sold for mega money to man utd, chelsea or a european club or/and b) because he was going to take us over, and they would form the basis of the "mega team" he was promising.

needless to say those plans haven't quite come off.

oh, and that report is from september. at that point people were still saying things like "you'll be chelsea's feeder club."

Mavumba, Traore and possibly Diawara today.

Our first XI is good enough, when all play, for top six finish.

Now we're working on having squad depth, Traore will be behind Pamarot and Stefanovic. Diawara could be a Linvoy replacement if he works.

Mavumba looks like a hot prospect.

Nice to see us do our business quietly though.

Mendes, Cole, Traore, Campbell, Kanu - Champions League Finalists (1 loser)

:D
