I never realised just how much kit painter and decorators needed to carry around with them

that is fantastic,
is it not cheating using an electric bike tho ;)

you'll need one of these and a big trailer soon

again, big PROPS TO YA!

It's not cheating at all, it would be impossible otherwise. Without the battery i can barely move it. :D I was a lot fitter in my youth, maybe i could have done it then. :D

well impressed though probably time to get some disc brakes
somebody makes some tweed cycling suits in suitable garish colors

ime tricycle's are a fucking nightmare- either all the weight on the front (a la christiania) making the steering heavy or no differential for the 2 driving wheels. makes for some very interesting handling. the standard bike plus trailer is probably the best way :)

Hmm... I rode a Christiania for about a year, riding 8-9 hours a day, and often overloaded above the maximum recommended weight limit and I found it really pleasurable and practical. Is your criticism based on theory or experience?

That's impressive!

I thought it was a normal bike at first, though. Some posts on this board have given tha impression that you could carry a whole house, bricks and mortar and all, in a trailer, but I always though that was a bicycle-specific kind of macho one-upmanship. :D

Cool way to transport your work gear around, though - it'll even get your gear closer to some people's windows sometimes, yeah? Like their back windows accessed via alleyways. You won't have to lug the stuff around, you'll just cycle it there.

Heh, I'm reminded of some previous threads where posters have made an egg over how it wouldn't be feasible to use a bike to transport, say, their kids around...I think this goes someway to giving the lazy lie to that...

It's really, really different. I say that as someone who did carry her kid on a bike till she got too big. For a start, you can't squish multiple children up and bend them till they fit in a trailer.

Around here its very conservative, 15 years ago i was the only person cycling! and now pulling this trailer i feel very self conscious, everybody stares, then i get all the 'any space for me' comments. If i lived in Brighton nobody would give it a second look, but here i'll probably get burnt for being a witch!

But i'm hoping that everyone will see the website emblazoned on the back of the trailer and offer me loads of work. So it may get me some more work, i'll save money by not running the pick up truck and even though i feel a bit of a prat deep down i know that i'm doing the right thing. :)

I think is it ace.

If you can also make more money/charge less then hopefully the idea will take off.

Well done.

Put it this way, with that lethal-looking hedge-trimmer or whatever it is, no motorist is going to get in a road rage incident with you. :)
