“It’s a quirky venue and we have always been pretty quirky. I love to take people around the venue and I can tell from the reactions on their faces that we have got this right.”
The line-up of entertainment for the opening on Friday includes Melopark – Kingman’s acoustic project with Kosheen singer Sian Evans – Zervas and Pepper, Suzie Ledge and Bristol band Cute Looney as well as a phalanx of top notch DJs.
“It’s going to be a huge party with free food and drinks to give people a flavour of what the atmosphere will be like,” says Kingman.
“In terms of numbers it will be bigger, but the spaces we have for bands are all smaller, only 100 per room, whereas we used to get about 250 in front of the stage.
“But this will be more about intimate spaces because I want this to be somewhere in town that can have a real atmosphere.
“We also have a fantastic food menu too with a pizzeria and restaurant, all fresh stuff – salads, soups and pasta – and we are trying to keep the prices down for people.
