Tory scumbag Richard Benyon announces massive rent hikes for social housing estate

I can't even think about this issue anymore, it's so utterly fucked up. If i wrote to my tory mp about this ('my' in the sense that I never voted for him) he'd just accuse me of being vulnerable to lefty propaganda and, in the case of a fewllo tory, he certainly won't want to be seen to say anything derogatory - were he so inclined to think that way - about a fellow 'striver'.

What chance do these people in these flats have? Where the hell are they expected to go? That's going to put further strain on local resources, not that Benyon cares. I doubt even IDS cares: it's ok when the rich play 'welfarism', just not when its paupers. So the local BnB's will have to take these people in (what heppens when they charge more - as I bet most do when taking in families) or people in need on waiting lists will be made to wait even longer because of a crisis other families have been put through.

It's just all games to these Tories. The chance to make some money as sport. It's like the movie Trading Places. What chance is there Benyonw ill lose out or get any kind of retribution for this? Fuck sweet all, I imagine.

All that's wrong in life, right there:

People like him need to be set on fire.

Your attitude, both now and in the past, via PMs and reported posts has made me very disinclined to help out. That's the way it works when you treat people like your divvies.
keep making excuses, it's obvious you have no intention of taking this shit seriously with your ridiculous straw men.

No. If he hates it that much I genuinely have no idea why he keeps posting - I wouldn't. It's getting stupid now - all he ever does is deliberately provoke people then whine about being bullied when he gets the predictable reaction.

But he didn't say anything out of order in his first post. Pickman's decided to have a go...

The thread was derailed slightly at post #53 by the raising of a previous beef from an unrelated thread.

On topic, Richard Benyon should have his nuts ripped off with rusty kebab skewers. This story encapsulates the deep sickness of our society :(

No it didn't. It started with Pickman's having a dig at AW. Listen, no agenda here, don't really follow many of the rows and divisions, but do notice when posters get attacked cos of 'beef' on other threads.

So what's the endgame for this kind of shit? Not to get all tin-foily but in combination with other wizard wheezes such as the Bedroom Tax, there definitely seem to be efforts afoot to socially cleanse London into even more of a rich scumbag's playpen than it already is.

I wonder far things will go along this direction until the majority of people who aren't filthy rich will have finally had enough? Hopefully before this country turns into an ocean of exploited and crumbling slums lightly peppered with shiny and pampered corporate showpieces...

Although I have a terrible feeling that even that state of affairs could be presented as justified by a combination of ruling class control of the narrative and that strangely masochistic brand of aspirational thinking in which poorer people are encouraged to think that they are temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

It should be illegal to sell social housing. The govt haven't paid for them so they aren't theirs to sell.

The problem with non-local authority social housing is that (as we've found out from the actions of the Peabody and Guinness Trusts) it's not statutory social housing, and therefore not subject to the same legislated constraints as local authority social housing. This means that housing associations and housing trusts can basically act like cunts, and there's fuck-all comeback for the tenants.

You fucking lightweight cunt!
Set him on fire and he'll be dead in 3-4 days tops if you do it properly.
Give him the death of a thousand cuts and he'll scream for months!
didn't the chinese have a nice little line in some wire mesh thing - i seem to recall reading about it in the flashman book where he's in china round 1860.

I do think it's possible that the talk of baroque and gruesome forms of murder has got out of hand here. And I say that as someone who suggested blowing up the guy's house with him in it.

Realistically we just need to take away everything this fucker thinks he owns and give it to the people who have spent their lives actually paying for it.

After that he should be made to live in the sort of squalor poor tennants have to endure while funding the lifestyle he previously enjoyed. He should have to graft out the rest of his days for minimum wage with nothing but a basic state pension and a slow death in an overcrowded, underfunded hospital to look forward to. That is the punishment he has truly earned. Well, that and a fairly severe kicking, filmed and uploaded to youtube for the amusement of the many people he's shafted. A couple of cracked ribs, a broken nose and maybe a lost tooth, that sort of thing.

Thing is, for those who survive the purges, this won't have been "social cleansing", it's have been "the market" in operation, with "the invisible hand" allocating housing to those able to pay. Those people will feel (already feel!) that they deserve to live in London, based not on merit or the contribution they make to society but desert based on ability to pay.
As for crumbling slums, you're kind of missing the latest wheeze whereby local authorities get into partnership with developers, and "regenerate" estates through knocking down our slums and replacing them with shiny new boxes, in return for being able to build so-called affordable homes for sale on part of the land. Our slums won't be crumbling, at least not visibly, for a few years.
