what are the proper hardcore fetish nights in london? i always found the ones i went to a few years ago pretty tame.

I've never been to anything that I could describe as remotely hardcore which wasn't invite only. All the good stuff that happens as a result of TG happens back at private parties afterwards.

I've only been once a few years ago & thought it was a bit of a let-down. It was expensive & I didn't feel totally at ease due to too many posey wankers there with too much attitude. Having some twat yell in my face about taking his number wasn't nice.

And no... it wasn't scary at all... in fact it was pretty damn tame! But then that is my opinion based on what I observed from wandering around the club. Only popped into the dungeon a few times & didn't see any shows if my memory serves me correctly.

TG is probably a good bet if you've not been to a fetish night before, it's not too play-oriented but there's still plenty going on, you can get as involved as you want too really. The shows can be pretty damn good, or sometimes just downright wierd (but good if that's yr thing, like catheterisation, suspension etc...). The music fluctuates from ok, good, or just utter shit (i.e. house/trance...) but mostly it's just good for people watching cos fuckin hell you really do get all sorts.

Whenever I've been, there has been a definate momnet when I've sat down, looked at all the people wife-swapping for kicks, thought about the stupid amounts of money people spend on clothes, drinks and coke and felt generally disgusted with humanity, but it tends to only last a few minutes and I'm over it

It's not some big scary hardcore orgy or anything, and as Cloo said, you do get the odd wierdo but they get chucked out if you complain, all the rooms have plenty of staff who know their shit.

Went with a few Urbanites to Club Rub a while back, which was alright as it happens. Very little pretensiousness and plenty of people being creative rather than spending loads on bespoke rubberwear. I've been a few times since and people are generally pretty friendly and happy to have a chat. I think Torture Garden is The Gap of the fetish world. I reckon it's worth looking around for the smaller more independent-minded clubs, imho.

Yeah I totally agree. Having only ever been to TG & Club Rub, I perferred the latter by far. I felt totally at ease & the people were friendlier & respectful... didn't seem 'touristy' either. But horses for courses & all that. Why don't you go to both & judge for yourself?

Club Rub definitely has a better feel to it than TG as far as I'm concerned; much more sociable. I would say, though, that if you want more 'action' then try Seedy and Sleazy .
