Torrentday blocked by Virgin

They wont stop , this is down to the american motion picture studios & tv companies , its pure greed, its nothing but corporations pressuring ISP's to do their policing for them. Admittedly it sounds a bit ICKE but this time its true.

I do agree with you about talking about proxys etc , however all one need to do is google ' how to access blocked sites or something '

Putting the whole new URL up like the twat up there did, is not only fucking stupid, risks the TD sites they could actually incriminate themselves by promoting the site and what goes on thier by association.
I think they'll give up if it's clearly ineffective, just that at the moment too many people (inc the media companies) don't know about proxy/vpn/tor and how easy it is to get round blocks like this.

ATM all torrent sites see TPB and EZTV take downs are being hit after the recent mega hack of sony pictures. Basically it's a run against time before that data is released and we see the first ever infosec company failure cause bankruptcy. Also sadly it appears that the world over it using that hack as an excuse to take out as many torrent sites as they can...

Don't use Tor for torrenting. Tor users get very, very upset.

I thought how it worked was that you use tor to access the website, then once you've downloaded the torrent link into the torrent client, you're no longer within tor, because you're connecting directly to the seeders?

Hi guys. I only use TD occasionally, logged on today to find it blocked by V!rgin....Reading these posts it seems to say that g00gle has the solution.....I couldn't find one there, but found this post.... it looks like some members have a solution, and it would be appreciated if someone can point me in the right directions... A Newby ! Thanks in advance

new member first post asking for torrenting site details didn't read the rules I'm guessing.

Hi guys I wasn't asking for torrenting advice just reading this post it looked like there was a work around to get onto isp disabled site's and I was asking for a point in that direction not the torrent site/advice itself. I didn't think that broke the rules. Apologies for the error if it did.

3 ways to get past these blocks I mentioned in my first post on this thread :)

tor shouldn't be used for torrents but is worth knowing about anyway.

Ok thanks I haven't really been used to all this kerfuffle before. Are there any decent free vpns? (hope that doesn't break the rules)

vpngate.net has a well maintained list of vpn servers that do the job. Welcome btw.

Tempted to close this thread if it's going to carry on like this - I particularly like how the OP says "don't ask me if its your first post" and then the next reply is someone asking on their first post.
